What exactly happened here?

So this PCX motovlogger I often watch posted this a few days ago.
https://youtu.be/jqlMvwaeECY
He crashes his bike on a metal bridge; he is obviously distracted by the hot air balloons, but how did he lose the front wheel lose traction?

I'm about to buy a new PCX 150, would ABS have made any difference in this crash?

i think he is about to hit the barrier so he applied his brakes, given that the bridge is metal, the front brake locked and lose traction.

Yes, ABS might've made some difference in that case. imo

The bridge was covered with thin ice.

His PCX is v4 which I think you can get with or without ABS in Japan. I don't know if he got ABS.

From his other video, it seems that his PCX is JF81 which is the 125cc version with no ABS option in Japan.

ABS/no ABS...not involved in this crash.
He rode into the bridge side.....saw a Burgman rider on a straight road ride into a curb...and crash onto the sidewalk.
Same thing --- very basic rider error, nothing at fault with the bike. Riders and drivers must watch where they're going.

IIRC, GN2's old tag line was "Look where you want to go." If you are looking off to the side, well.....

I guess that could have been worse if you must go off. I would be looking to see if the phone was still in the cradle. I'm betting that cell went off the bridge and in the drink... no way to call for extraction at that point out there in borderland. Something to think about if you have those mounts in a remote location accident and you can't really walk about looking for it.

Two things immediately jump out, road surface and speed.
The centre of the road at the crash site is piled high with mud.
Scooter is going too fast for the very slippery road conditions.
Rider simply fails to pay adequate attention to the main task, riding the scooter.
Expensive lesson.

Check out the shadows his leg movements cast before impact - looks like he was not in control for one reason or another
