My new 2010 SH150

I picked up this near new black model about a month ago with only 100 mi on it. Bought new for the wife back in 2011 it was taken out in its first outing on a parking lot. She went a VERY short distance and dumped the bike. It went back to garage and sat there. Amazingly the husband kept everything ready to go in case she changed her mind; she never did. When I bought it, the tags were still current and ready to ride. It started up and ran like it was rolled out of the showroon floor.
Honda windscreen was removed, oil change added a tach. With GPS I have verified it will do 65 mph at 8,400 rpm. That is maxed out on level ground and me in a tuck. If I sit upright 61-62 seems to be max. Any slight incline and you loose speed. Since it is not maxing out in RPM, I will guess as the bike breaks in I will net more RPM and more top end speed.
Any other SH150 riders on this forum?
Jerry

Amazing find....and great bike!
Wish Honda would have kept up sales in USA.
Darn few quality 150 big-wheeled step throughs available here.
Enjoy....

A Honda SH150 in the United States with low miles... talk about unusual! It is a great little bike. Finding one is very very unusual. Finding any bike with low miles on it is a great find as it is. But finding a SH150 with low miles in the United States, well that is the needle in the haystack.

There have been a couple of them on Craigslist here in Florida in the past 6 months.
I have thought about maybe buying one, but I can buy a 2016 or newer pcx150 for the same price.
Plus the SH's still have original tires that would need replacing just because of age!
I would not ride on a nine year old tire no matter what it looks like.
So would have to put more $ into it. Brake fluid flush ?
To me it just wasn't cost effective to buy a nine year old scooter.
Go on Craigslist, Daytona, Tampa, Ocala, Orlando. Search for it , they might still be on there.

Does anyone know the max power or RPM of the bike?
The 2014 PCX with lower CR, 10.6 vs SH150 11.0) produced maximum power of 10 kW (13.6 hp) @ 8,500 rpm

I don't know, but I have heard that it has more power than the PCX. Maybe Honda didn't put the rev limiter on it??
Cycleruss,
Any older bike that has been sitting around would need new tires, but that is part of the negotiations. You can order tires online cheaper than at the store, so all you would have to deal with at the dealer would be getting them mounted. The price for mounting them can vary between dealers, but if you are going to trailer the bike over then just put the new tires on the trailer and have the dealer do it while changing fluids and belt, etc.
When I bought my Burgman 400 it had 2 miles on it and had sat in a barn for 6 years. I had it trailered to the dealer with new tires, and had them change the tires, belt, fluids, plug, etc. The cost was somewhere around $450, but I had negotiated that into the sale price. I essentially bought a new bike for less than $4,000.

Based on the running so far, I'd say there is a rev limiter in the bike as I cannot get above 8,500 (I added a tach). If there is "more" power, it would be from the ever so higher CR.

Remember that the engine doesn't break in until close to 2,000 miles. The top end will increase slowly as the engine breaks in.

I was looking at buying an SH150 not long ago, one site I'd found said they make around 15HP.
