Re: Givi T-492 Easy Large Saddlebags

Make sure to put some clear 3M or XPEL film on top of any painted areas the bags might rub on. You can buy such film on Amazon and other places. Otherwise, you'll likely have a nice sanding job done on your factory paint. Very good idea. In the past I haven't used anything like this and just accept...

Re: PCX 2013 Fuel Filter Change

I looked in the service manual and although I found the procedure, I can't see any recommended interval for the fuel filter replacement. I have to agree with gn2 until reeducated otherwise. Seems like the cost of replacing the fuel filter far outweighs any benefit. Here is why, according to my pea b...

Re: Things I love about my PCX!

That's the one thing I wish I had on my 2014 PCX is the charger in the glove box. Steph, super easy and cheap to add a charger to your pre '15 PCX. 1. Connect this to your battery. You can drill a small hole in the stock battery compartment lid to pass the cord through: http://www.amazon.com/Batter...

Re: maddiedog admin...where?

Stuff like what maddiedog has had to go through makes me want to move to another planet sometimes. Something is fundamentally wrong with society when you can't even enjoy and participate in your own website due to liability concerns.

Re: Yamaha tops PCX

Ok, since I am working night shift and am tired and bored, I will bite. Riding position looks poor on the smax to me. From what I read on the advrider smax thread, 65 is about the top sustained speed you can get, maybe 70 if conditions are perfect, I.e.no headwind, flat road, small rider. One guy wh...

Re: Comparison

Styling is a funny thing. I think the human brain just gets used to one look, so a new look is "good" or "bad" depending on whether you are the type of person who likes change or the type who is change averse. For instance, if the 2015 style had come out first, then Honda changed...

I think there was some cash on the seat from Honda as an incentive that they passed along to my dad.

$4500 seems reasonable to me if that includes any freight and setup.

Re: Trade in question

Maybe, maybe not. I think you're potentially way underestimating the time needed and the hassle factor. No, I don't think so. I've sold a ton of cars, cycles, and bicycles on Craigs. Never a problem. Never had anything languish there too long. Maybe I've just been lucky 15 times in a row. 90% of th...

Re: 2014 Forza

Where did you find those prices? Even on all of the web sites (like cycle trader) I see $4k but after fees and delivery they are all about $4500 OTD to my door. My local dealer now is at 4500 plus 200 fees but will negotiate to 4500 OTD. Shipping is typically 250-300. He said they are dropping abou...

Re: Trade in question

A rough idea of how this kind of thing usually works: Say, for example, a new PCX can be had for $3000 out the door. A used one is therefore worth somewhere in the $2k-2500 range out the door. Dealers see things as worst case, so they are thinking they can sell the scoot for $2k at the least. So the...

Re: I just HAVE to vent!!

Seems pretty simple to me, in theory. Look around the planet, look at how everyone is handling health care, emulate the most efficient systems. Right now, we're spending far more per capita on health care than the average, and our outcomes are certainly not commensurate with the vast amount we're sp...

there are too many special interests who will lobby to make sure the system stays dysfunctional. Never mind. all will be well so long as you maintain your right to keep emergency rooms topped up with gunshot victims. lol The hospital where I work is a fairly large one in a metro area. It's frustrating. I don't mean to get you upset about it, since it sucks and I feel for you in your situation. Here is how I see it... The difference in your Harley or Timeshare examples and health insurance is this: If I buy refuse to buy a Harley or a Timeshare, that decision doesn't directly affe...

Re: 2015 PCX 125- heated grips

Not PCX specific, but there are a number of videos on YouTube that show heated grips being installed on various cycles. Just search for "heated grips install" or "heated grips" and you should get a good number of hits with some useful info on the general process.

Re: 2014 Forza

Welcome! I am looking at getting a Forza. Saving up and waiting for a good deal. How much did you end up paying for the leftover? In case it's helpful... My dad bought a leftover '14 non ABS Forza not too long ago. He got what I considered to be a pretty aggressive deal on it. I think he paid $3700...

Cool weather affordable suit - Firstgear Thermosuit

My dad, who rides his PCX, Forza, and other assorted larger bikes in all kinds of inclement weather, was so impressed with his newly acquired budget cool weather suit that he bought me one for Christmas. I had my first opportunity to use it this morning on the way home from work (overnighter). Fanta...

Thanks for the review. I might have to pick one of these up. By the way, I think you could dispute it if they tried to disallow use of the 20% off coupon. This isn't a floor jack. They call it a "motorcycle lift". The jacks they sell on the site are termed "floor jack". If they g...
