Re: New rider WARNING!
Brakes have always felt fine to me, even when freewheeling. I live on a 7-8% gradient so often experience this when setting off. Front brake is more than powerful to stop me flying down the road.

Re: Dealing with Wind My First Time Out
1) Lane positioning, if you have a cross wind from the left you might want to move over to that side, just in case a gust knocks you sideways a little. 2) Be aware of your surroundings - if you see a break between buildings or if you are passing a large vehicle, be prepared for a gust of wind. 3) Pr...

Re: Selling my bike - what do do about a couple of nasty scr
The cost to repair will outstrip the amount you are going to get in return. You are selling at the best time, people will be out looking as we approach summer. That will help the sale. Just think of what you want to see when you go buy a bike. Make sure its properly cleaned and polish. Change the oi...

Re: !st MOT on PCX - passed without any issues!
According to the National Police Chiefs' Council many forces don't prosecute until you reach 35 in a 30 or 46 in a 40 (10% for driver concentration and 2mph speedometer error). Also minor speeding offences will still result in a fixed penalty notice and usually a £100 fine. Only if your speed is wel...

Re: clever ignition key on pcx
Agree with the OP. Although I use it everytime it can be a pain in the backside if you have a bunch of keys or wearing thick gloves. Limits the amount of space to operate. Also annoying when you dismount and realise you forgot something under the seat having already removed keys. You then have to go...

Re: Gas Going Up 40 Cents Per Gallon in U.S. by Summer
That's quite a hike. We are in the middle of a supermarket price war. Still paying £1.15 a litre ($6.50 a gallon) though. happily take the few pennies discount though.

Re: PCX 125 on the motorway
I traveled six junctions on the M1, when I first purchased scooter and had to bring it home. It wasn't too bad but not my idea of fun though. Got a little boring and on one occasions I started to pass a HGV but had to drop back as we reached an incline. I preferred to just ride in the slow lane, wit...

Re: Long Journey
I once rode Sheffield to Birmingham (then back again) on a CBR125. Although I used motorways (got boring). It sounds strange but I always feel uneasy riding a smaller engine on long (fast) journeys compared to when I had bigger bikes. Because you're limited to approx 60mph you get a lot more people ...

Re: About to buy a 2015 PCX 150.
I get 60mph at the very best from the 125cc variant. Probably another 5mph on top for the 150cc. Cannot see speeds of 80mph unless there has been some changes to the bike.

Heated grips. If I could have only one thing on a stock PCX, it would be the grips.

Re: Rear View Mirror Visibility
Not very good without mirror extenders. But on the flipside, the extenders make it more likely to clip a wing mirror when i'm filtering. So I have choice between better visibility or better filtering through traffic.

One more thing. . . I forgot to mention that we don't get the "Idling Stop" feature in the U.S. market for the PCX. But I guess it's available in the European and Asian markets. To be honest it's a feature that I can live without. . .but wondered how many people actually use it. It's kind...

Re: Fuel Gauge
I get 115mpg (I'm a big lad), so a couple of litres would get you 50 miles easy.
Think the tank only holds 8 litres, so you would think since they don't pay added Tax on fuel they would brim it to the top.

Re: Insurance Query
I decided that fully comp was best for my 1st year. Ill go TPFT from year 2 While I can see the reasoning to go fully comp in your first year, £600 excess is a stupidly high figure. 'IF' you do take a tumble, you're paying the first £600 in repair costs anyways, THEN you have to declare the claim f...

I usually insure a few weeks in advance. On the comparison/insurance sites just state Registration unknown and enter details manually. When you get cheapest quote, call them with the Reg number.
My cheapest quote was with Just Motorcycle Insurance.

Re: Weather/Wind Protection with Stock Windscreen & Front Co
I have ridden below zero in UK (with stock screen). Personally I don't have any issues with the stock screen, I'm 6'2 and wind hits me around chest/shoulder. I even use a flip lid and only really lower the visor when I go on 50-60mph roads. If you are planning on riding 50-60mph for an hour then get...

Re: Idle Stop
Had one instance of the bike not firing back up. Was waiting at lights and the engine reached temperature and idle stopped. Lights remained red for another 2 minutes and when changed to green it would not fire. Put me off using it for a while as I had to turn off bike and start it again, at the fron...

Re: Heated grips
I didn't think the pcx could handle heated grips? Any pics of the install? I've installed Oxford Hot Grips Premium Touring Heated Grips OF691 (from eBay) and they work fine. Install is relatively simple. Two major snags 1) removing bar ends. You will need an impact driver to remove as they're secur...

Hi, Been viewing site for a few months and decided to jump in and register. Bought my PCX125 back in June with 400 miles on clock, riding through all sorts of weather since. Think I clocked about 1,000 miles. Only one picture I'm afraid and it's an old one. Have since fitted a Shad Topbox and some O...
