Re: Antifreeze
You are going to need such small amounts for topping off. Why worry over it? Just go to the Honda shop and buy a bottle of the right stuff to begin with.

Looks like an awkward package. How about a home made pouch with straps and carry it like a backpack?

Re: So I test rode a Forza... question on seating position.
I bought a Forza last fall. I am 6ft and 240 lbs. I felt is was a little cramped at first but got used to it quickly. You can remove the bolster but the seat looks pretty ugly with it off. So far I have not seen any aftermarket seats for it in the usa but it seems there are a lot of places that will...

Re: Parking brake lock
Homie is correct. Guaranteed to happen. If you do decide to adjust it just remember, after the adjustment to turn on your scoot and check to see if your brake light still goes on and off when you pull the lever. Sometimes if you adjust the cable too far it will cause the brake light to stay on.

Re: Advice for a new Forza Owner
If you have a good Honda dealer locally you should absolutely get the fuel pump replaced if your scoot is on the recall list. I would not worry about the seat piston till they do a recall on it. The 600 mile oil change is just for the very first oil change. Follow the owners manual on the maintenanc...

Re: Fuel Pump recall replacemeent...caution
I had my fuel pump replaced under warranty last friday. Went in with half a tank and came home with a full tank. It did take them 4 hours. At least it was 4 hours when they called to tell me it was done. I asked about the seat piston while I was there. They said they could replace it under warranty ...

One option to consider is to have the seat redone to lower it.

Re: plastic valve caps
All auto parts stores carry them. Never buy metal caps. They tend to corrode and are sometimes impossible to remove without cutting them off.

Re: Measuring the oil level. The scooter is on the center st
Set it up the way you will check it every time so it will be consistent. Drain the oil then refill it with the exact right amount of oil. Check how high it is on the dip stick and you will know that is the correct amount from then on.

Re: Strange recall notice
It would be my guess that the guy crashed his bike (the bike had no faults) and came up with that excuse in hopes someone would fix it for free. I have ridden for 50 years and have many friends that ride. I have never had a run away bike and neither have any of my friends. Sure. It is not impossible...

I also use the battery tender on all my things that set through the winter. Works great.

Re: not breaking engine in gently: what are negatives?
Some of the negatives might be---- Higher than normal oil consumption. Permanent engine vibration or possibly total engine failure. My Honda mechanic told me that but he also said for the first 50 miles don't do full throttle take off's and not run at fastest speed. After that ride as normal.

Re: who know about this connector?
I am sure that is an add on connector. The only way to be sure what it is for would be to track down the wiring and see what it is connected to. My 2 guesses would be either to the battery for a charger or to a heating element for engine pre-heat in winter.

I have been keeping a short bungee cord under my seat and hook it from my bars to the seat to hold it open. Not elegant but it works.

Re: That seat 'opener damper'
If you like to redesign and manufacture things I believe the very best solution would be to make it so the seat lifts up from the side, not the back. That would give you easy access to the entire under seat area.

Re: Helmet Hook
I have found that MOST helmets fit under the seat if you orient them correctly. No matter what way you secure your helmet if a person wants it it will be gone. The only thing locks of any kind do is help honest people stay honest. At least when they are under the seat or in a top box they are out of...

Re: cbs at pcx 125, 2010
A professional or very experienced rider can stop faster and safer without the use of cbs or even abs. You have to practice emergency stops on all different surfaces and riding speeds to be able to do that. Most people never practice any emergency stops from fear of damaging their bikes. That is why...

Re: Honda Pacific Coast...
I got the feeling the Pacific coast was just too far ahead of it's time in looks. Shaft drive and hyd valves that never need adjusting. I have read many stories about guys going 50,000 plus mile with no real maint. besides the needed oil changes. I almost bought a used one, then decided to go with t...
