Yes it is. The first one makes me cringe. I recently learned how to fly a tail wheel aircraft like the ones above...

They say with tailwheel aircraft its not over until the chains are on it. You really do have to FLY that thing even on the ground.

Definitely need to think what you're doing with a taildragger, but once you get used to them they're great fun.
Getting them turned around in a strong wind can be a challenge, I can remember not being able to get turned a few times and having to wait for ground handlers.
