I just use google maps, it works quite well.
Currently ride: 2011 Honda PCX 125 - Upgraded windshield and seat, keeping this one mostly stock
Previously rides: 2005 V-Strom DL650, 1974 Vespa Ciao, 2011 Honda PCX 170 (tons of mods - takegawa 170cc big bore kit, gears, etc), 1996 Honda Nighthawk 250, 1987 Honda Spree, 2000 KTM 125SX, 2003 Honda Silverwing, 2007 Genuine Buddy 125, 1998 Honda PC800, 2008 Buddy 125 (white), 2008 Buddy 125 (red), 2001 Honda Reflex, 1987 Honda Elite, 1988 Honda Spree, 2007 Yamaha Vino, 2007 Honda Metro, 2x 125cc pure-chinesium dirt bikes

For speedo as want to see difference with wind and hills etc

Ah, I was thinking more of on the lines of maps and navigation.

For momentary speed checks, or logging your speed, DailyRoads Voyager can simultaneously record riding video, g-forces, and speed. I use it to record driving, so if I get in an accident, the video can be proof of what happened.

You might be able to search in the Android application marketplace for something. I haven't used anything like what you're looking for, unfortunately. :(

I've used "android speedometer" and it seems to work fine. There's a free version if you can put up with the ads.

Yeah will search the market but was hoping someone could save me time :D

Ideally will look for something that logs top speed on a ride. My satnav is not waterproof so a phone application would be good while it uses gps safely in my pocket

My Tracks - it's a Google app, logs top speed, average speed, distance, altitude, gradient etc and plots it all onto a map and you can upload it to Google Maps too.
