Scary accurate mpg estimates by Honda.

WOW! Image What a difference..... 68.1 & 99.9! I'm guessing it has to do with Speed, Fewer Stops, and City/Hwy Riding?

BTW Branyers, how do you like your Malossi's, compared to the Stock Shocks? I've got a set in a box in the garage, that came in Friday. I'll get them put on by the Dealer next month.

Thanks for any input!

Cheers!

Back in July-August, with temperatures in 80's as highs, upper 60's as lows, my mpg readout got up to 78.3mpg. As temperatures started dropping in September (highs upper 70's, lows low 60's) the mpg started dropping to upper 77's. Then I accidently hit the reset button when in the wrong trip odometer readout and this reset the mpg to "0". Now am having trouble getting above 71mpg...but temperatures hardly get above 70 as highs, 50's as lows. So...???

I'm running 16g rollers, so I am very happy to see 68mpg. I was running 12g rollers, and while the performance was phenomenal, I couldn't live with getting only 50mpg. No matter how I rode it, 50mpg. So I divided up the 12g and stock 21g rollers for a happy median.

The Malossis are nice btw, I have them on the softest setting. Still bouncy, but bumps don't jar the entire bike nearly as much.

Doesn't a UK gallon equal about 1.2 US gallons?

No, 1.2 US gallons is about the same as an imperial gallon.

1 US mpg is equal to 1.2 UK mpg
https://www.unitjuggler.com/convert-fue ... erial.html

So 68 US mpg would be equal to 81.6 UK mpg

Location makes a lot of difference in mpg also, people in higher altitudes get a higher
mpg. That's why a lot of people in higher altitudes in the US report higher gas mileage
than people in lower altitudes in the US.

"See what happens when you ride sensibly?!"

Where's the enjoyment in that. Might as well trade it in for a station wagon. The Forza's fun to rip around on :)

So true, it's much harder for me to do the speed limit than it is to just go balls out.

Keep in mind that gn2 recorded 99.9+ miles per imperial gallon vs. Branyers14's 68.6 miles per US gallon which is about 82.3 miles per imperial gallon.

But that was for a trip of just 18 miles in still air with a pre-warmed engine.
(from petrol station to my house)
Switching to metric revealed it was 105mpg
My best tankful was about 85mpg
