New member, here's some pix!

Post by Dustoff66 »

I got my PCX 125 in April 2012. After having a bigger Honda for years it was a pleasant surprise to ride such a sweet, smooth, FUEL-SAVING bike! The only negative I had was the seat --- it was a little hard on longer rides for my bony rear. So last winter i had a local car upholstery shop redo the stock seat with wider contours and softer padding. What a difference! I've also added a Givi tinted windscreen, a Givi box, cruise control, a handlebar clock, a cup holder for my coffee which I need daily, and some LED lights along the bottom of the rear box platform. They're actually red but they look slightly amber in the photos. We get a lot of fog around here and I want to be seen!

This shows the really nice seat job. It was a little pricey but worth it.

I think so, too!!
Great looking scoot, DustOff!

OH ... I'm totally jeaous of your coffee holder. I forget to buy smaller coffees when we're out riding and I wind up wasting them, getting antsy to get back on the road.
(Hmmm ... maybe de-caff is the answer.)
Let us boogie ...

Thanks all! The seat was a little expensive ( over $275.00 ) but it's been worth every penny. I saw a nice seat on a Japan website but with shipping the price was about the same and who really knows if it would arrive undamaged. The coffee holder is from a boat dealer --- holds a bottle of cold water too in hot weather.

How did you get cruise control installed, and how much was it? I'd LOVE to get that!

It'll be something to lock the throttle grip I suspect rather than cruise control

The Givi windscreen is the D-322. I got it from Competition Accessories, www.compacc.com
The "cruise" -- you're right, it's a throttle lock, not a true cruise, I got on Amazon. It's called The Sound Off Vista Cruise.
Both were very easy to install. The "cruise" has a little creep in town -- I have to pay attention 'cause the cops have Vascar.

It'll be good enough on a scooter depending on the terrain

I've got heated grips on mine. Set on full they expand just enough to do the same thing. Bonus. Just sit there and watch the country go by....

Hi and welcome, Dustoff.

Really good pics. I nearly went for red but finally chose white - you really need to be seen amidst the myriad of scooters in Thailand!!
I'm with you on the seat. That hump is just too far forward for me as I need a bit more room. Yours looks really comfortable. Is the hump in the same place or did you move it?
If I had some ham I'd have ham & eggs if I had some eggs!

Hi all! I live near Williamsport, PA -- out in the "boonies" away from the city.
Glad everyone likes my seat! :) I have sort of long legs even though I'm only 5'10" so I had the shop place the hump a little farther back and they added extra padding. Instead of feeling like I was pushing against the handlebars to keep from sliding off, AND feeling every little bump, I now can ride a lot longer and farther back. I have yet to have anyone with me so I can't speak as to whether a passenger would have enough space.

Definitely looks comfy. I havent gotten my PCX yet, but I'm 6'3" tall, so when I do get it, I'll probably remove the hump. If I can redo the entire seat like you did...all the better.

Hey thanks so much! I like to always customize a little -- I got some reflective wheel striping but I haven't tried to put it on yet. Maybe soon. Just spent about an hour Wednesday AM shining her up for the 9/11 ride but we got big T-storms that afternoon and I don't like to ride in those. Oh well, next year.
