Re: Looking for Advice on Honda PCX Maintenance Tips for a New Owner
Keep it simple. Don't overthink it. Change the oil every 2-3k miles. Change the trans fluid every 5k miles. Change the belt and rollers every 5k miles. Use normal engine oil, not motorcycle oil. 10w-30. Oil change interval is 4000 miles or 12 months whichever comes first Final drive oil change inte...

Re: Forza failure on Sunday - any ideas what happened?
but how does it just suddenly fail one day like that? The ECU constantly checks the battery for voltage. There's a set level below which the ECU decides it won't play any more. When the battery gets to that level it's like hitting a switch, everything just stops working. So your symptoms are nothin...

Re: Average mpg
After a fill up, and re setting the trip and average to zero. It registered over 80 mpg even before I had completed half a mile, I have now done 5miles and it is displaying 170 average mpg. Not sure how this is meant to work and wonder if it is just not working properly. I would be interested to he...

Re: Coolant in engine?
Looks like two stroke oil to me. Aye, it could well be. Ah, how I miss the smell of two stroke..... I do wind down the car window to smell it sometimes. Getting rarer :( A wee while ago there was a procession of old trad 2t scooters through the centre of town, must have been two to three hundred of...

Bummer. You’ll be missed, thanks for your inputs along the way …….. Cheers Springer, I'm not gone forever, give it a few years and I might get the urge again. If KSR group ever extract the digit and get the G325 into production the urge will be very strong..... In the meantime I'm keeping all my ri...

And I'm done
Have agreed a price for my scooter and the purchaser is picking it up a week on Wednesday. So that's me finished, just don't have the desire to ride it any more. I might pop in here occasionally to check what's going on, see who's saying what nonsense, just a matter of time till some fantasist claim...

Re: Coolant in engine?
The mechanic put in Motul 7100, but I wasn't there when he poured it in to see the colour. Turns out Motul 7100 4-stroke oil is indeed red, very weird. Every day a school day. https://d23zpyj32c5wn3.cloudfront.net/images/product_descriptions/technical_data_sheets/61288/7100_4T_10W-40_%28GB%29.pdf?1...

Re: Coolant in engine?
Main causes of coolant in engine (in no particular order) are failure of waterpump mechanical seal, crack in cylinder casting, leaking cylinder head gasket. Have you had an oil change recently? Could be someone has put the wrong type of oil in. I've never seen red engine oil like that. Fork oil yes,...

Jiggle the key as you press the button, sometimes the seat/fuel switch doesn't unlock properly.

After running in, if you use fully synthetic oil the engine will be fine to run wot all the time.
BUT despite what you may have read on the web, the PCX will not be as fast as your Rebel.
