After getting a similar quote to you I had an independent dealer service my Forza at 16,000 miles
Using genuine Honda bits plus front & rear pads came out at £363.20 including the fitting of a back tyre.
Dragon-UK's offer looks good to me

Re: Need some thoughts
Have you considered adding aftermarket driving lights to your Forza? I find the Forza a good compromise being good on the highway but also good for filtering in the towns. Appreciate you'd like ABS but you've managed without it so far - UK Forza 300's are all abs so could you buy the necessary bits ...

Re: Battery life on the 300? (or something else)
Hi Aguim, I'll be interested to hear if your asbestos pad is effective - depending on how my Forza runs in 2017/18 I might invest in Arrow pipe & silencer which is smaller than the original (+ a shed-load lighter) and gives more clearance to the rear caliper which should reduce the heat. Persona...

Re: Battery life on the 300? (or something else)
Hi Aguim, Yes Kent is in the South East (warm bit) of blighty but I tend to use a car Nov, Dec & Jan more because of dark evenings than bad weather, rest of the year its the scooter doing average of 190 miles a week. I bought my Forza used at 6 months old with 1800 miles on it and had new brake ...

Re: Battery life on the 300? (or something else)
Hi MBMyer - low usage kills batteries and 20 months & 5,200 miles is the kind of mileage I do on my 'Sunday' best Bandit - which has a Ultimate charger attached to it all day while it sits in a warm garage. In contrast my Forza sits outside every night and is used most week days and has done 18,...

Re: 55 Litre top box on a Forza 300
I take it a 150/70 13 city grip on a Forza 300 is ok then, factory fit is a 140/70 13 but city-grips don't come in that size - which is why I've been using Scootsmarts. BTW I got 7000 miles (11150 km) out of my last 2 back scootsmart tyres and the front is still the original scootsmart on 18,250 mil...

It's a bit of a beast for London filtering - be finding that switch to fold the mirrors in very handy I reckon!

Re: Gone to the dark side
I must admit anything over a 50 mile round trip commute would probably work out cheaper using a car (if you take into account scooter servicing & maintenance) or public transport - however you have to weigh up traffic conditions, availability of trains/coaches/buses and factor in the ability to ...

Wow, 122 miles round trip! That is some commute Richard, good luck with the Burgman - I rode one once and was very impressed.
How long had you had the Forza and, at 40 miles commute how many miles had it done when you chopped it in?
Pete

Yes Happy New Year to all forum readers & contributors In 2016 I did 8,400 miles on my 2014 Forza 300 - which has now covered 17,912 miles This was nearly all commuting to work and back I also rode 2,900 miles on my Suzuki Bandit 650 - which was mainly Sunday rides and a weeks touring in Cornwal...

Re: Question about buying a Forza
Hi Shrink13, Welcome to the forum, Like some other members I too bought a 6-month old 2,000 mile example in April last year which had a fitted 27 ltr topbox & the high screen, it had had its first service and the water pump recall done. In 18 months I've added 14,500 miles (now at 16,500 miles) ...

Re: Making the rear brake pads last???
Hi, I find the engine braking on my Forza 300 really good - check your tickover (idle speed) it should be 1,500 rpm or less. You say you use the brakes hard on the freeway when people do stupid things in front of me - not teaching you to suck eggs but do you keep a minimum of 2 seconds between you &...

Re: Top speed?
My Forza 300 will top out at 85mph sitting upright but gets vibby at those speeds, it will sit comfortably at 70-75 but again fuel consumption suffers.
Think you'd need to look at a Burgman 400 or similar for sustained high speed highway work

Re: Opinions on Tyres for the Forza
My original rear tyre lasted 7,500 miles, the second - another Dunlop Superscoot lasted 7,000 My commute is 25 mile each way dual carriageway ridden gently at 60-65 mph and I try not to do heavy braking/accelerating by observing traffic well ahead and adjusting my speed accordingly I don't ride with...

Sorry GN2 - don't know if the valves were checked if I'm honest - so probably not.
What will your replacement be once the Forza goes?
Beegmouse - £2,100 is a very reasonable p/ex price in my opinion - what have you chopped it in for?

Re: Forza 300 16,000 main dealer mile service cost
I used Motoworks at Newington for the service in the end - came out at £363 and included fitting of a new back tyre that I supplied. The owner, Lee, does the servicing on my Bandit and is very good. Interesting post that Honda are ditching the Forza - I can't see that happening because, whilst the S...

Re: Forza 300 16,000 main dealer mile service cost
So my Forza 300 had it's 2nd 8,000 mile service today, at an independent dealer but using Honda parts. Scooter is 22 months old New Belt, rollers, air cleaner, spark plug, front & rear brake pads and new rear tyre. Rear pads were on the limit - @ 14,547 miles Front pads had circa 15-20% life lef...

Re: New Forza
Hi Stevenson, Welcome to the forum. The Forza 300 is a popular & IMHO a great all-rounder scooter. Is extended warranty worth it you ask? - you need to consider what you want the vehicle for, how long you plan to keep it & the mileage you expect on cover on it. These Forza's have annual or 8...
