I started 115mpg (for around a year), now up to 117mpg. Think the rise is based on two reasons.
1. bigger screen - thought this would reduce the mpg but it seems to cut the wind better than my frame.
2. Weight - I've lost around 10lbs in a year and I think this might have made a small difference.

Re: New owner pcx 125
Strange, it's basically instant (a mere couple of 100 milleseconds at most) and the only other reported time it failed was when the battery was flat, which should not be a problem with the new bikes as there is better detection of low battery and disabling the idle stop (there's a rather involved g...

Re: New owner pcx 125
I don't personally like the stop start. Prefer the instant power rather than the slight lag with the Stop/Start. Plus it has failed on me twice, which results in you having to frantically switch off/on and restart bike.
Not worth the hassle in saving a tiny bit of petrol.

No, just having a look for some easy repairs which could be sold on. Hate to victim blame but people need to be locking to an immovable object, especially in London.

Poor stolen and recovered PCX. Looks like a lot of work. https://auctions.motorhog.co.uk/vehicle-list/details/2014-honda-ww-125-ex2-f-125cc-petrol-motorcycle-at-n-s-a-a--n-s-a-a/550939?x=0&type=1&make=&trns=0&fuel=0&catc=0&dist=0&sort=0&srch= Also another recovered in...

Re: Oxford Heated Grips
I fitted them myself. A few tips (learnt through mistakes). 1. Check you can get the bar ends off. If you struggle get an impact driver from Halfords. I nearly rounded the screws before getting an impact driver. The screws are secured with locktite so not easy to remove 2. Use a stanley knife to rem...

Re: First week with the PCX150 and first impressions
LED Model solves a couple of those issues. Namely there is a clock within the instrument panel on mine and the LED headlights are bright. Be surprised if you don't get 100mpg. I have the smaller 125cc variant and weigh 220lbs and still get 115mpg. I agree with the brakes, fit for the job and linked ...

Don't particularly like the look of scooters, and I would happily forfeit the higher MPG for more power. But for what I needed at that particular time the PCX price was good for me.

Mine was pre-owned, two years old with 450 miles on clock. £2,095 (about $2,750 at that time).

Re: Apple will block texting....
Big problem in the UK too. Recently fines/penalty points increased (if caught using phone in first two years of holding licence you will have it revoked). It's not going to stop someone texting at a stop light or junction, so only half solved problem. From what I have read the feature blocks unneces...

Psychological. You get the same effect when you clean the bike.

Re: Ignition Cover Not Staying Open
Cheers PCX150Rider. Might give the steering a wiggle next time it happens, see if that helps. I would estimate it happens about once a fortnight, so not major enough for me to consider replacing.
In the meantime I just sprayed some GT85 in there to loosen it up and work any grit/debris out.

Ignition Cover Not Staying Open
Had a few instances now when opening the ignition cover with the end of key, it just snaps back into the closed position. Normal operation you will feel a click and the cover locks in the open position so that you can then insert key to start bike. However when I turn the cover there is no reassurin...

Re: How many of you actually RIDE in the RAIN?
Just the one spill recently in the wet, but at slow speed. Would not put me off riding in wet.
Mechanically they are built for it. Just down to personal preference. Worry more about what others on road are doing than myself in the wet. Just aim to be as visible as possible.

Re: Slow Speed Spill on Tram Tracks
You mean you skirt across trolley tracks running parallel with your direction? I could see how that might take the front out from under any bike o_O glad you didn't twist something. Yep. Our tracks are a little thicker though. Picture of the junction where it happened. You can see the cars emerging...

Slow Speed Spill on Tram Tracks
Whoops. Had to happen sooner or later. First fall on the PCX. Have to ride over tram tracks about a dozen times a week. I don't mind them at speed but I learnt the hard way at slower speeds (cant have been faster than 5mph). Bit of scuffed plastics. Old man works in motor repair trade so I'm going t...
