Re: Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(
Just got the quote back from the Honda Garage to repair.... nearly 850 quid! Considering the guy said "doesn't look too bad" when I took it over there. Bugger.

Re: Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(
In principle I have to agree with djcat recomendation of reading material. Now I don't know what the criteria for bike safe is, with regards to what size bike they recomend on to their courses. I have a feeling they need to be able to consistently travel at NSL and or motorway limits. Certainly I d...

Re: Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(
I think you guys are right - I think I allowed my eyes to stop focussing on the road ahead and probably stared at the rapidly approaching grass verge which only made things worse! Here are a few pics, not showing all the damage, but the main bits (lots more scratches, scuffing which I can put up wit...

Re: Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(
gse123 Most unfortunat :( e, I'm sure not rider wants an accident. Looking back, considering it was a quiet, single road, what actually caused you to hit the grass verge? Was the road slippery? What speed were you 'cruising' at? Do you think it was the angle you took the corner? Share with us so we...

Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(
Earlier on today, taking a short journey to visit a friend... A route I've done many times. On a relatively quiet single carriage way A road, I took a corner either too quickly, or lost concentration - or both. One minute I was cruising along absolutely fine, then the next thing I knew I was on the ...

Re: Just received my adjustable brake levers!
Are the levers moving ok. Eg. The bolt too tight holding the lever on restricting its movement? The movement is absolutely fine... but somehow the braking now seems a bit 'spongy' and not quite as responsive - it feels like you have to squeeze the levers quite hard before they really start to engad...

Re: Just received my adjustable brake levers!
I also have small hands and solved the problem for myself by adjusting the rear brake lever freeplay. How to do this is in my owner's manual, so if you have an owner's manual you could look it up in the index. In mine (USA, PCX 150) it is on page 72. I just adjusted a half turn at a time until it f...

Re: Cleaning .....
The only thing I am still struggling to get clean are some of the matt metal features like the foot pegs etc. Even with a generous application of Muc-off, then good quality car/bike detergent with a detailing small scrubbing brush it still will not lift all the black marks from the metal. Any good a...

Re: Moisture inside the visor of my new helmet
Quick update on the above. Tried with the vents open and closed - doesn't make any difference. Unfortunately i'd ordered the wrong pinlock insert so cannot try that... however it is definitely not right. On the way to work this morning it happened again - so much moisture on the inside of the visor ...

Re: Moisture inside the visor of my new helmet
It happens weather I leave the visor open a bit or not unfortunately. Just to be clear - I'm not talking about it fogging up.... literally droplets of rain gathering on the inside.
I will re-try the pinlock insert though.

Re: Moisture inside the visor of my new helmet
I have a pinlock insert for it, but don't current use it at the moment due to the factory treated anti fog coating on the visor being so good. I will try out the pinlock insert next week and see if that helps with the moisture issue. Thanks!

Moisture inside the visor of my new helmet
I recently upgraded from my cheap Box Helmet to an HJC FS-11: http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/76047 It is a fantastic comfortable fit, is very quiet once the visor is closed, is pinlock ready, and had an internal drop down sun visor built in. Exactly what I was looking ...

Re: Just received my adjustable brake levers!
The levers are moving smoothly enough... but it seems like there is quite a bit of movement before they start to really kick in. Physically everything looks fine, and when i'm just pushing the bike along and give them a squeeze they stop instantly. Perhaps it's all in my head.... i'm still going to ...

Re: Just received my adjustable brake levers!
Probably just a coincidence that it has been a bit wet / icy since I fitted these levers at the weekend, but the brakes just don't feel as responsive all of a sudden.... like I said, probably just coincides with natural road surface conditions that increase braking distance but I felt I had to pull ...

Can the straps go under the seat itself instead of over the top?
