Re: Helmet Hook

I pop off the bluetooth module and just hang it on the mirror. I have a couple of stickers on my helmet and it's definitely well-used, so I doubt anyone would steal it.

I used to use the helmet hook, but I lost it on my first PCX after a couple of years, and already lost the hook for PCX #2.

Re: Percy the PCX125

10k miles took me almost 3 years! Congratulations on the milestone. I liked your financial breakdown. You will see way more cost savings next year, when you don't have to factor the cost of the scooter against the savings since it is paid off! :D I am chilly just looking at the pic of your PCX frost...

Re: New Owner

It won't damage or even cause the slightest wear to what you call the starter motor. Elaborating on this in a more polite manner, the PCX has a stator. It is a combined unit that is both starter and alternator. The idle stop adds virtually no wear, as the stator is engaged the same during start con...

Video worked for me!

I always knew white was the fastest color

I weigh 150 also, but my PCX tops out just below 60.

Re: Speedo Sensor Problem

You might be able to remove the rear allen bolt and bend the cover mostly out of the way to get at it without removing the tire. The proper way to do it is to remove the wheel though.

Thanks Mel! I think I'm going to go with no topbox for now.

Mark, I actually need to remove the centerstand. It's on my to-do list. I'm used to it from my V-Strom, and haven't gotten out of the habit of using it yet. Last thing I want to do is break another crankcase like I did on my first PCX.

Re: An easy way to top up the oil

I just use a funnel. Extracting, the PCX is too low for my oil pan. I take a 1 gallon milk jug and cut it in half (after drinking the milk first, of course :P ), then slide it under and drain from the drain plug. Remove / clean the oil screen, reinstall drain plug and screen. Fill with oil usi...

Re: Tire issue ? or Not ? Question

That sounds to me like something loose in your steering head bearing, where the forks meet the frame. Have someone sit on the PCX to hold it up, with their arms holding the seat next to them. Stand in front of the PCX, and put your feet on either side of the front wheel to try to hold it in place. G...

I've taken my PCX to the golf course before, wearing the clubs on my back on the highway. Got some funny looks that time. If you think people loading up bikes is funny, check out this page, it's amazing what some people can fit on a bike: https://www.reddit.com/r/MotorcycleLogistics/top/?sort=top&am...

Re: Mobil 4T, suitable for PCX?

Sir, what engine oil do you use? is there a consensus on which oil is the best for PCX? The PCX has a dry clutch and transmission (CVT), so you do not need motorcycle oil. I use synthetic 10w30, whichever brand is cheapest name-brand. I'm using Shell Rotella T 5w40 right now, it works great. The PC...

It's a tiny little square-shaped thing.
Pliers?
Finger tips?

Thank you.
Finger tips are fine, pliers are fine. Just be gentle, they're tiny little parts. ;)

Re: Speedo Sensor Problem

Choke light? The PCX doesn't have a choke light. It has FI, and no need for a choke. Something else may be wrong. This how-to has WAY more than you need, but the 4th-8th picture shows what you need to do to take off the cover over the sensor : http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4373 Note yo...

Re: Tapping noise coming from bottom end of engine

Sounds like timing or exhaust gasket missing to me. I like Gil's suggestion of checking the tensioner if you're confident it isn't valve noise. Badly adjusted valves make a tapping noise too that sound like that. When you took the head off and did the cylinder, did the cam chain guides look worn? Di...

This stuff will be fine, and is more than adequate.

Honda ships it with a synthetic blend, so ignore anyone saying (incorrectly) that you need to use non-synthetic until break-in is done.

Re: A fresh start

Mel (Mel46) dropped off a windshield for me to use, since he had a spare. I washed the bike off finally. It took about 2 hours, there was actually mildew growing on it. Anyways, here's the PCX fresh and clean! I know it's the same as every other white gen1 PCX on here, but she's mine, and I'm proud ...
