Bar Muffs
i want to get some Tucano Urbano R361-1 bar muffs. these are the ones that fit a bike with bar end weights. is that the correct one for a PCX?

Re: Bar Muffs
I have some cheap muffs I use on my CBR250R. They work real well and are a must have for highway cruising at temps below 35F.

Can't beat a cheap muff.
Re: Bar Muffs
The Tucano Urbano ones are nice and neat and modern looking, not like those big old scary muffs from the seventies.

I'd imagine those would work, but you may want to contact Tucano to see what they say.

Re: Bar Muffs
One feature I find that is critical to have is a wire sewn into the hand opening so you can take your hands in and out at speed without to hole being blown closed by the wind.

Re: Bar Muffs
thanks guys. ordered them so i hope they fit. i want the screw onto the bar end type as they are stylish and not available in japan. i fear they might disappear while the bike is in the uni parking lot although i use a cover, so that is unlikely.
will report back when i get them.

Re: Bar Muffs
Yes, those are the bar end ones. The closed end ones that I used (and still have) were secured on the handlebars with a couple of zip ties hidden within the muff.
If you have heated grips then don't use the bar end version.
I found I had to cut the hole for the brake leavers a little to a) get them to fit, and b) stop the muffs actuating the brake leavers
It wasn't really much of an issue but be aware. Check to make sure your brake light has gone off after you have put the steering on full lock
Just cut the brake leaver hole a little if needed.

i can always put some smaller motocross style brake levers on or hack the ball off.

Re: Bar Muffs
I had to install the bar end screw back through the muff to secure it from actuating the levers from the wind at highway speed.

Re: Bar Muffs
i managed to change the order to the non bar end weights version 360-1. those sure are some big levers though. might have to break out the hacksaw or buy some smaller shorter levers.

Re: Bar Muffs
haildamage - are those the bar end fixing type? Hard to tell from the pic. I've given up trying to get my bar ends off (wait for comments on that one!) as I'm at risk removing the screw threads. Wish they used hex bolts rather than screw heads.

Re: Bar Muffs
No, they go on over the bar ends. The bar ends do not go through them if that what you mean? You cut the zip ties to remove them for summer and use new zip ties in the fall.
