Has Honda ever identified the bearing defect in the PCX150?

Post by Vince »

I have a 2014 PCX150. When I rotate the rear wheel, the bearings are broken and loose.

Has Honda ever identified this problem and issued a safety recall?

One dealership told me that the bearings are loose floating around, but said that it wasn't dangerous. But I can't possibly imagine why it would not be dangerous.

Do I need to replace something? Will Honda pay for it (without an extended warranty)? It seems like a manufacturer's defect.

I have not heard of any recalls on HONDA bearings .You can repack them however at specified intervals or whenever you hear them. Not dangerous ..Noisy .They will let you know when its time.. Stay proactive and "just do it".

Hey Vince, here is the most common assembly we have seen needing to be replace. #8 FACE SET, DRIVEN OEM part 23205-KWN-640

http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/201 ... #sch794095

Have a look at the sticker under the steering column for the year of your PCX. Bike Bandit wont list parts for a 2014, the year PCX was being redesigned into what we now know as the LED models. You either have LED head lights or you don't that will decide what year parts will fit your bike. Have a look when you get a chance, very few people report an LED PCX with a 2014 manufacturing date... Cool!
