Woolleys shiny new car

Ive finally got a new car sorted after all the bullshit with my astra. Thats all still going on, but ive put it in the back of my mind now, and im gonna just let it play out. Anyway, thats another thread. I got myself a 1998 VW Golf 1.9 turbo diesel automatic today

It was advertised at £1895, but I haggled him down to £1700 as its gonna need a cambelt change come MOT time in February. Its only done 58000 miles. It was the PCX that made me want an auto, ive only driven 70 miles home in it and i love it. Even though its 4 years older than my astra i feel like i got so much more car for my money, it just feels like its built much better, and its got more gadgets, astra felt kinda cheap being the base model. The best thing about it is blue dash led's as standard (i was planning on modding my astra dash with blue LED's but now i dont need to

)
Insurance for third party fire and theft was £1650, which to be fair i dont think is that bad for a 22 year old with one non-fault claim, another ongoing claim with injuries (because its still unsettled its the same as it being my fault basically), 0 no claims because of that, 3 points and a void policy.
I just need to change a fuse for the cigarette lighter, and i wanna take the golf and tdi badges off the back, just think it looks alot cleaner without. Plus the sticker in the back window (and add a pedobear sticker

)
The first pic is abit crap but its the first one ive took of it, next to my mums polo on the way home in Keele services while eating a kfc

Looks nice. Tdi's go well with good fuel economy. I haven't driven one with a slush box thought, only manuals. I take it you haven't used Cis insurance then.

The turbo's really make their presence known with those TDIs. I've driven a couple of them and as long as the turbo isn't awake nothing happens. Keep your foot down though and you won't have to guess when it spools

its only the 90bhp model i think, so acceleration is a little slow, but to be fair i havnt really put my foot down in it. I went with admiral in the end. Never going near CIS again. I *think* it has 4 gears.

I had one of these in the gt tdi model, brilliant car with its 130 bhp and masses of torque. You really appreciate them on the motorway when you need to give it some or overtake,so much torque at 60mph and above.

I wasnt on the PCX though, my dad drove me up in my moms polo and i drove the golf back.
I gave it a good clean today. I was gonna polish it but only got as far as the bonnet and decided it was too much work, ill wait till i give my dad his buffer for christmas

Ive also debadged the back now and removed all pointless stickers in the windows. The bump strips on the back were looking very faded and grey, so i sprayed them with tyre blackener stuff.

Whats peoples opinions, better with or without badges? Not that ill put them back on, ive debadged all my cars

I was gonna clean the PCX aswell, but im super lazy. Thats why i bought an automatic. So ill clean the PCX tomorrow instead as im off work.

How would you remove the rear handle?

I wouldn't remove the bumper trim though, that's your first line of defence against ugly scratches!
