Left side cover (crank cover) hole

Hi everyone, my wife had a small slip last week with our PCX and the left side cover has now a small hole. Does anyone knows if it's fine to tape it or cover it somehow? Or there is any issue with riding like this? See the picture below.

Small slip?? Hmmm... I don't think I would drive around like that for long, but then there are some who use duct tape for everything automotive, so who knows? You do know that to get that panel off you will have to start from the back and take every panel off on that side, don't you? Well, you aren't the only one to ever have damage to that particular panel. I have replaced that particular panel twice, so just order the replacement panels and study the how-to. It will be a good learning process.

My wife is so clumsy I won't let her anywhere my bike, but she's still managed to have three offs :-)

You should be fine to ride like that. Consider buying new panels, I thought that they were quite cheap.

Hi everyone, so yes my bike was stolen couple of months ago. I didn't fix everything at the time, I left the two side front panels broken and used tape to cover it as I was short of money. It was a very good job my service shop by the way and I saved a good amount of cash and the bike was back on the street. Just for info, every panel is about £85 here in UK before tax, plus the hourly service of about £60 in London. And as you know it's a pain to change those panels.

I'm just glad my wife is not seriously hurt and she's doing fine. I trust her with everything as everyone should trust their wives.

Now, regarding the hole I'm talking about, is not in the front panel, but rather in the crank cover at the back. See zoomed picture. I haven't rode the bike since the accident and don't have time now to bring to the mechanic.

WOW! that's a HOLE in the CVT cover. Fortunately not in a place that matters. This is not a sealed compartment, open air and can fill with water in a puddle anyway... you're good.

Important to keep that covered as you don't want any crap getting in there! I believe that is part COVER, L. SIDE, 11341-KWN-780, about $90. $12 shipping (air-freight 2 week delivery)

Cheapest option, water-proof industrial glue and some plastic to cover it.

I've got an as new crankcase cover going cheap. Its for a non LED ESP. Not sure for definite if It'll fit though.

luccasvr, thank you for explaining further. It's so easy for forum members to misunderstand one another. An obvious reason is because we stem from all over the world. We think, speak, etc differently. It happens, No biggie, and is usually an easy fix (as you just did
All of us have to try to keep that realization in mind.
Adding your location to your profile will help members when offering their advice. This way we start off on the right foot
Ex: Where you reside (London) scooter parts are more costly. Not so where I reside (N.Y.USA).
Seeing your location in the left column allows me to be aware off that. Result: I might not be so quick to advise you to "buy a replacement part!"
So please enter your location asap to prevent getting the wrong advise from caring members. There are easy directions to get that done below my post.

Best News, Best statement you made was that your wife is doing fine. By the looks of your scoot I certainly thought different. I get it now.
And I'm certainly Happy about that!

To Fix or Not to Fix, that is the question.
(Me? I would buy a replacement cover because it's affordable here in the USA - not so by you).

I've repaired holes similar to that with some high temp epoxy like JB Weld.
Just clean both sides with alcohol (rubbing not drinking) and put a couple of layers on it.
It will hold you until your new part arrives.
Then, keep the repaired one in case it ever happens again.

JB Weld can fix anything. Just purchase some and fix the hole. Then buy some silver spray paint, clean the part and then repaint it. It will be fine until you decide whether you want to replace it or not.

TBH. Chewing gum will do the job. The whole think is vented.
