Re: vespa
Yep, looks fantastic, will be very economical and has extremely low service requirements.
Zero onboard storage and metal bodywork both not so good.
Will only be available as an aircooled 125 or 150, bodywork not big enough to accomodate the 300 engine and radiator.

Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Want one
Re: vespa
Me too, but won't be having one.
I'm leaning towards the Forza, hopefully it will be around £4 - 4.5k

I think it looks modernAlibally wrote:There's a lot of rose coloured glasses here. Looks like a load of old fashioned crap to me. Nobody would buy a 1950's car for the same price of a modern one.
People do seem to buy retro styled vehicles, some good some bad.

Wrong.Alibally wrote:Nobody would buy a 1950's car for the same price of a modern one.
People pay premium prices for interesting and well restored older cars.
A brand new Ferrari is circa £250,000 but older ones can change hands for millions.
If I had the money I would have a 1961 E-type Jaguar and a 1956 Citroen DS.
Anyway this Vespa 946 is about as modern and advanced as any aircooled scooter on the market right now, its engine is a little peach.

Exotic sports car are a different kettle of fish but drive a modern standard production car back to back with an old one and you realise how rubbish the old ones are. Would you swap your micra for an allegro? I don't think so.

I had an Allegro and would not even swap a packet of crisps for one :-)Alibally wrote:Right in my opinion.gn2 wrote:Wrong.Alibally wrote:Nobody would buy a 1950's car for the same price of a modern one.

Yes, really stylish. On the early one they were that rubbish that if you jacked up one corner the windscreen used to pop out.
