H.I.D. headlight size?

Post by Scootin' »

Ok I know the bulb size is HS5 Stanley 30/35 watt. Has anyone tried to install a H11 HID Buld in their PCX yet? Trying to find out what works. I have not been able to find a HID "HS5" Kit online. Going to install HID but need to figure out what size will cross reference. Thanks

I haven't seen anyone in the US or UK with HIDs yet. There are kits online (on Thai and Japanese sites like powerbypcx, maithai-motorsports, webike, etc) and I've seen pictures, but I've never seen a straight-bulb swap without changing the housing.

I might have to create a kit. The thing needs LED's & HID's. I'll keep you posted. There's no holes in there for running LED's or anything. The over sea's models (125) got all those things, don't know why the USA model don't have them.

Looks like you need two of these for a PCX, doesn't it? I would actually prefer the projector type, like PowerbyPCX installs. Sooner or later I will go there (20 minutes from my home) and check the Xenon against my standard lights. Their shop is open until after sunset... ;)
Bike history: Germany: Staiger 50cc 2-stroke, BMW 250 (from 1952, my age), Honda Dax ST70, Honda CB 125 (Twin), Honda CB 750, Kawa Z400j
Thailand: Kawa Zephyr 400, Honda Wave 110 S, Kawa ZX130, PCX 150 (as far as I can remember)

Make sure to report back, I want to replace my US front end with a non-US front end to get the integrated blinkers, and the projectors are just a bit more expensive than the stock fixture. If they make a good difference, I'll be getting that for my birthday or Christmas. :D
