Went to Harley World Headquarters--and Propmptly Broke Down
It's 14°F (-10°C) with snow flurries, why not head over to Harley-Davidson's World Headquarters and get a picture?
Rolling in to the parking lot the front wandered a lot, and the phone died from the cold. Crap.
I'm at Harley's world headquarters, on a Honda V-twin, stranded.
An employee promptly stopped, found the tire bead let go due to the cold and called for assistance. Another employee came with an air tank, popped a seal, and filled it to the correct pressure, just like that. (Coincidentally, he owns a 2010 Fury, flat titanium.) Rolled the bike in front of the main entrance, he took a picture on his phone, e-mailed it, mission accomplished. Thank you!

That type of riding weather is for the hardy. The last time I even tried to ride in those Temps I owned a Harley and it would NOT start. Cages come in handy in those temps.

Re: Went to Harley World Headquarters--and Propmptly Broke D
It is, just a bit more stretched than a boulevard cruiser, it edges itself into the "chopper" category (and it steers like it too....) The wheelbase is 71", length is 101", single-pin crank V-twin. Seat height--none. LOLyou you wrote:Is the Honda furry what you call your “chopper”?![]()
A common mod is to put 8° triple-clamps & 3" risers to rake it out a bit more, though for the money the appearance isn't greatly enhanced.
"Chopper"--see Class:

Give me shit about it, that's fine....

Cheers!
The line between riders and enthusiasts becomes clear when the guano hits the fan.
Nice of the Harley people to rise to the occasion and help you out. . .. Being stranded on a motorcycle or scooter is a test of character and wit.

Now that is cold, especially with no wind protection. That's definitely nice of the Harley Davidson employes to help you out.

Stranded in the cold with no phone is an issue; they could have given me all sorts of shit but instead did the complete opposite and turned what could have been a huge headache into a great day. (They only asked that I buy a Harley on the way out.)* The gentleman who aired her front up popped in to FuryForms, the thread is at:

Re: Went to Harley World Headquarters--and Propmptly Broke D
I purchased a small battery that can be used to Jumpstart a vehicle. It also has a port for charging a phone. I know that there isn't a lot of room on a motorcycle for storing items, but it might be beneficial if you purchased one of those handlebar bags and carried something like that along with you for emergencies. Cold weather will sap the power out of almost any battery, so wrap the unit in something, or keep your phone in an inside pocket of your jacket. When I was in the Antarctic we had problems with cameras freezing, so we kept them between our bodies and our parkas until we were going to use them, after which they went right back in the warmth. If you are going to ride in the cold, have a plan. You could easily get stuck out in the middle of nowhere.

Re: Went to Harley World Headquarters--and Propmptly Broke D
Good points Mel. the phone was on the RAM mount for GPS to find the HD entrance, and it died a fast death. There's an SAE plug up there that powers USB ports, but the cable was disconnected by the battery to plug the heated gear in (need to make a Y-cable, it's a constant upgrade for cold). Eventually I realized the phone could be charged if the gear was disconnected.

Or any motorbike that has been chopped. The clue is kind of in the name.
Ffs are we going to say a Bros is a Buell.
I’d kill for that chopper, can I have one in orange please? And a Johnny 7.

Re: Went to Harley World Headquarters--and Propmptly Broke D
I remember that bicycle! Never on one but admired them.
The Fury is incredibly powerful stock, 95 is no problem. The ECU limits the top speed, remove the limit and it'll go to unsafe speeds without hesitation. Changing the pipes, reprogramming the ECU, and possibly larger air intake (stock is fine) makes it an arm stretcher, no piston/cams needed.
The 2018 Harley Davidson Milwaukee Eight engine is big, has 4 valves per cylinder (8 total), and shed weight, even with a primary counter-balancer. We'll see how it goes, and it's looking great so far.
In a smaller package the PCX150 is much the same, a 50cc scooter platform with 125cc engine, bumped up to 150cc. Runs awesome, generous in the looks department, sips fuel delicately, great handling, sleek appearance. Squirrel loves it, just bought her new tire valve stem caps, license plate holder, and helmet. If it wasn't raining we'd be riding.

I always wanted either a Columbia Playboy bike or a Schwinn Stingray. Santa never brought me either one but I was able to convert my old Rollfast into one with an aftermarket banana seat and ape hanger bars. Didn't have to futz with cables because it had a coaster brake. Ahhhh those were the days.

Re: Went to Harley World Headquarters--and Propmptly Broke D
HP is not where it's at on V-twins, it's all about torque, which comes on early and keeps on going (right until factory retard-ation). It's also light, so it gets up and goes. The V-Rod (recycled V-Max) has quite a bit more power, but it's very unreliable and high maintainance.you you wrote:67hp at the crank.

The Fury is not a crotch rocket, nor would it keep up with a V65 Magna (100cc less displacement), but it's quite the wild single-pin crank.
