Best alarm

Hi all,
Been thinking about fitting alarm to my Forza and was wondering what everyone else has fitted.
I'm very competent in most aspects of vehicle build and electrics, so fitting is not an issue.
Looking to pay around £90.
Appreciate you feedback.

Put your £90 towards your next bike.

Bikes and alarms just don't work.

I use a BULLY wheel lock. It is loudly alarmed - with a pager device that alerts me if lock (or scoot) is moved.
Brought me right out of a dentist's chair one time when parked downtown.
Price was about $100 5 yrs ago.
Used in combination with Bully lever locks.

You could also do a simple immobilizer. I did this with one of my cars. Car won't start unless I trigger the remote. Great peace of mind and cheap.

Very good idea...except on my Volvo 2.5T V70.
I opened the hood a few days ago and found that everything seems to have a cover! Heck, the battery is in the trunk area, where the spare tire is, and even it has a cover. I have to take my car to a Volvo specialist when it needs repairs...and it needs repairs now. Ugh! Mortgage the house!

We have several neighbors who have Volvos. One of them tried to 'tune' his. The wrecker showed up a couple of hours later. :-/

If I had concerns I would fit it with a proximity/tracking alarm.. One that alerts you through your cellphone. Once the alarm on your phone goes off the tracker kicks in and you could watch it on a gps map where its going.But , once you get the alarm you might be able to stop the perpetrator in their tracks or at least follow it with a cop..

I always wondered if a GPS tracker would run your battery down. I know some of the new "trackers" use Bluetooth and depend on other owners to somehow pass this signal on, but I am talking about a GPS locater device that is activated once your bike is disturbed. Anything could disturb the bike, including the wind, so would it constantly be in the on position, draining the battery?

There is a low voltage draw but the alarm is activated by motion or by movement.Those settings are adjustable .GPS tracker simply works off of change coordinate which is instantaneous.I have one on my boat and when the anchor sway is changed an alarm will go off.If you are sleeping and your anchor gives way or wind picks up and you go adrift the alarm will alert you.Disabling a scooter does little good as they can pick it up and put it van goodbye.A tracker will let you know.

I do lock it with chains and disc lock with siren. Perhaps a tracker is an option. Is there an annual subscription with those?

If the signal is being tracked somehow, then I would have to wonder how you get a notice and from whom or what. I read some instructions on a few and they mentioned needing a gsm SIM card on the device so it could send notices to your cellphone. Other devices were offered by "Watch" companies that contact you if there is action. Either way must cost some kind of annual fee I would think.

Good chains. locks & an anchor are in use when at home. Always try to chain it to a post or similar when out.
