During my recent search for a replacement engine, I was staggered by the amount of very cheap engines I was offered.
But when I asked for proof of ownership I was met with silence or unbelievable stories of selling it for mate and he had got it stolen and recovered hence why the engine number had been ground off.
The engine I bought in the end has all its numbers and I was able to check the V5C from the original bike that had been in a front end smash and confirmed the identity of the seller.
There’s no way I would be any part of the stolen parts trade. I’ve had bikes stolen in the past and was gutted
I’m going to make sure I even keep my bike locked in the garage from now on
