Where was your PCX made?
I thought all PCXs were built in Thailand, but the dealer who sold me mine insisted this one was built in Italy?
He also said that the air filter is different to Thai built ones.

Re: Where was you PCX made
Made in Thailand.
Also, for tax reason, it is possible the PCX to be imported in parts and assembley and finally build in EU (Italy).
Who knows?

Re: Where was you PCX made
As far as I know the PCX is built in Thailand
Re: Where was you PCX made
Just check the VIN number under the seat. If its start with ML-MR it's Thai made, mine start with ML.

Re: Where was you PCX made
Pretty sure that I have read elsewhere in these forums that all PCX's are made in Thailand. In fact, I think GN2 may have posted a link to an article stating that. GN2, was that you?

Don't remember it, but AFAIK all PCX production is and has always been done in Thailand.

Re: Where was you PCX made
I own a PCX 150 (2013) and live in the Netherlands.
I looked up my VIN code under the seat. The code starts with ZD. WMI codes ZA-ZR is for Italy.
On the net i found a VIN decoder for motorcycles.
The decoder says my PCX is made by: Honda Italia Industriale s.p.a., Zona industriale Piazzano di Atessa
You can check yours at: http://www.cyclepedia.com/manuals/CPP-VIN/index.php just fill in you VIN code
greetings from the Netherlands,
Simon.

Re: Where was you PCX made
Hello, PCX 125 are made in Thailand and a large majority of PCX 150 are made in Italy, that is one reason is that in many european countries the 150cc is available for sale. Except FRANCE 150cc or is not available (all for a story driving license)
Re: Where was you PCX made
No, I would say that majority of PCX 125 for EU countries were made in Italy. All delivered to Slovakia and Czech republic were from Italy.

Re: Where was you PCX made
We knew it was coming. I don't know if any of the new bikes are built in Thailand any more. We heard that Italy was going to be a new assembly center. I believe that there was a notice that manufacturing of the PCX would be moved to Vietnam. I am guessing that it was cheaper to open a new facility than to change the tools and dies where they were, which would mean that the led model manufacturing may have been moved to Vietnam.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150
Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Re: Where was you PCX made
The Thai factory is still alive and kicking, but Honda has built new factories instead of increasing capaciy at existing sites.
The hybrid is built in Indonesia mainly because that is a Huge market, what also has orbital protective customs. Thai operations are still churning out tons of bikes, like the cb 500 family the new cb250r and cb300r models and so on.
Italy (i think montesa) has seen a serious drop in demand for large bikes (it has bhilt the cb600 hornet for long time) so slowly been extended towards assembling other models. Also the new nss models (both the 125 and 300) are designed and also manufactured in Ifaly, as well as the SH, x-adv and some others.
