Best British import since muffins
And a scooter video....
(had the great good luck of having them do a Gentlemen Of The Road tour stop nearby. An amazing weekend for the family and 30,000 guests.)

Re: Best British import since muffins
Very good! I have never heard of them but I do like their music now that I have heard it. I am sure that it was even better in person.
I once had the privilege of seeing Lord of the Dance when it was first introduced, and it was much better to see it in person than to just listen to the music.
There just something about being included in the show (even if just part of the audience) that makes the show even better.

Re: Best British import since muffins

Those colored dots are just the ticket holders who camped along the river for the 2 day Mumford & Sons "stop over" concert.
Ticket seller said tickets were sold to all 50 states, and 5 foreign countries. School buses convoyed from a WACO airstrip.
.The event involved the whole town's participation - town center is closed to all except ticket holders for the week end. And then cross the bridge to the football stadium. Towns can bid for one of these Gentlemen of the Road tour stops.....an advance party comes from England to interview with the town leaders. There were 3 of these in N.America that year.
It is all kept secret until the venues are published....and tickets printed.
I never found anyone who'd heard of these guys, until I met these 30,000 folks.

Muffins, scones, it's all good.
Pack a large bag of both and a thermos of coffee. . .time for another space ride.

They're not really regarded as being English, never mind British. I think that's just a bit of branding at your end.
The only time we'd really come across them is at a certain American fast food restauran.
Re: Best British import since muffins
Well heck, those were your only entry.
Yeah, girl friend from Hull told me that years ago. Didn't want to believe it.
And that Arthur Treacher was actually from Wyoming.
"Say kids, who wants British tonight......."

The muffins known in the USofA as "English" muffins are very much alive and well throughout the whole of the UK where they are known as "oven bottom" muffins.

Crumpets and butter

Re: Best British import since muffins
I prefer crumpets. But isn't the metafor the same in any case?

Servers always present me with these moist, limp things.
Best is to get them gum cutting crispy - before the butter and strawberries.
You guys carry on grousing.....I'm going to go have a look in the fridge.
With Paul Newman special blend & set at "strong, 12oz." I'll have a party.
