belt slipping and front drive plates

hello, i have a 2012 pcx with 30k on it, i have changed the belt once and at the time i knew i should have done the drive plates, but i did not. ( i have a cycling background and i know if you change the chain you must change the gears). i feel i am at the point now that i need to change the variator and get another new belt, my question is should i go with the plates from the DR Pulley brand with the lighter or heavier weights and can i get away without changing the rear drive plates ? at the moment i can only afford the front plates and the belt, im really hoping to eliminate the belt slip by just changing the front, its just slipping on accel...

Is the 30k miles or KMs?

The drive plates (faces) don't wear like a sprocket does with a chain.


Run a fingernail down each of the faces and if there are no obvious lips then they are good to go.

If you buy genuine Honda parts you know they'll all work together as intended.
All other brands... no such guarantee.

Big fan of the NCY system......ask mel for links....use a new honda belt.....

At this moment my bike is in my basement. I am installing the NCY variator kit on my bike. I put one on my wife's bike awhile back, and since she can't ride right now, I take hers out quite often. It is really fun because it can surprise other drivers by getting ahead quickly, especially when I would pull into traffic while climbing a hill.

I have the 15 gram rollers on mine already. The rollers help the bike get up to speed quicker, but the NCY variator helps the bike get to a higher top end. Together they help the bike to get up a hill at the traffic speed instead of lagging behind.
