Re: What to do on bank holiday Monday?
Riding all year round in Scotland
Front end smash too
replacing Stem bearings and Races, drive belt, three panels on left side, mud guard (front fender), wheel spindle probably wheel too as there is damage to the rim
just did my valve clearance as well.
lots of wire brushing some wet and dry and maybe a little paint since I'm this far in
might as well lube my centre stand again before I put it all back together, I could be finished by next bank holiday
P.S. in this picture it was still running, I have since stripped it down further.
I can def rebuild, MOT due in August so it will have to be good and ready.

While you are at it you might consider lifting up a few panels and sliding a new bike under them. :-)
I hear that it would be a considerable improvement.

Well, we're hunkering down as Tropical Storm Alberto is heading right for us. Rode the bikes along Front Beach Road for an hour yesterday, just to get some riding time in before it hits.....
Re: What to do on bank holiday Monday?
Hard to tell conclusively from the picture but that fork yoke looks bent.

Shame you're not in the states, I have a pair of stock rear shocks with just over 1k on them. Yours if you pay the shipping free. To the UK it might be cost prohibitive

Hey all,
thanks for the responses
Mell You're right my bike is in disgracefull condition but for three years(near as dammit) I rode in rain, sleet, salt and darkness; not pretty but unstoppable(I love my bike)
Limey stay safe and I hope it passes you by without incident (fingers crossed)
GN2 as usual you are right yoke is bent if the spindle is anything to go by I am looking at full front end on ebay for £135 (yoke, forks, frontwheel caliper etc)
Thanks Robbie I guess I never wanted to know this much about my bike but....
k2apache6.0 no way I'd be as well shipping myself to the U.S. but thanks (inflate the spare mattress )
to all, I will put this bike back on the road, I don't care if it takes me 10 years and ten grand I will not be defeated
I will post seperately about the "accident"
thanks for the responses

Re: What to do on bank holiday Monday?
I was talking to some friends yesterday and one of them suggested that we meet again in the next day or so, to which I mentioned the tropical storm and said that we should wait for it to pass. He looked at me with a blank look on his face and said, "Storm? There's a storm? Where?"
It obviously isn't as much of a problem as the weatherman is making it out to be. Yes, it is raining, but it does that a lot during this time of year anyway. Wind? We haven't seen much.
I am guessing that this thing will be gone in a day or so. It is just reminding us that Hurricane season is arriving.
