2009 Yamaha Majesty 400
I had been looking for a bike to ride in the US on my trips back from Thailand and had been leaning toward a Forza because I wanted something bigger than the PCX. None were available in my area so I ended up considering the Suzuki Bergman, Yamaha Majesty and Honda Silverwing. I settled on the Majesty, primarily because it was the best deal for me, all things considered (price, location, availability, condition, odometer, etc).

The "bike" in the background is a Polaris Slingshot. It is pretty cool and futuristic looking. A motorcycle license and helmet is required to ride/drive it on the road, although it basically operates like a car.

Beautiful kram, your Majesty looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor and I bet it looks it, in person
Congratulations, the hunt is over
Have you been riding it? How's it feel atop a bigger more powerful and hopefully comfortable scoot? Wait! I think I see your Wide Smile from the Island
AFA that Slingshot (more car like than bike), there's one a few blocks from me that I've passed a few times on the road. I took a few photos of it while riding passenger in a 4 wheeler. This one is all Black. The White you posted is Much nicer (imo).

Your Majesty 400 reminds me of a cross between a Burgman 400 and the Silverwing. It looks stylish.

Re: 2009 Yamaha Majesty 400
My helmet finally came in and I am looking forward to my first official ride tomorrow (weather permitting). The Mrs and I decided to get matching Bell Revolver EVO helmets in the 'Ghost' finish. We like the fit and the fact that they are modular.

Re: 2009 Yamaha Majesty 400
It has been a while. I moved back from Thailand at the end of 2017 and helped the in-laws adjust to the the new norm for them with the my father-in-law now being basically wheel chair bound. I began working again at the beginning of June. Our home is in Niagara Falls, NY but the job I have, has me working on location at various places throughout the country for 6-24 months at a time. Presently I am in the state of Maine. I was able to go back in June and get the Majesty. I was going to rent a trailer, but decided to buy the one pictured instead. It seems to be perfect for the job.
I ride to work most days, which is only 6/10's of a mile (1 km) but I typically take the 6 mile (10 km) route. I have even taken the 20 mile (32 km). Usually it is ATGATT, but for the sake of the picture below, I didn't as it was just a trip around the block in Niagara Falls. And of course, the bike 'deserves' a custom plate, so I got the name my grandson calls me by, which has a story behind it.

Wow, that's a lot of windscreen. Great looking bike tho, congrats! I agree with Mel46, it does remind me of the Silver Wing a bit.. I was even thinking the Givi tunnel bag I have would fit perfectly.

2009 with only 4,000 miles. All I have done is swap out the backrest for an '07/'08 one (more support for Mrs. Kramnala - and better looking in my opinion), add mirror extensions (best addition yet) and put Grip Puppy comfort grips over the OEM handle grips (nice and comfortable). At 400cc, it has lots of power.PCX150Rider wrote:Looks brandy new!

Re: 2009 Yamaha Majesty 400
It really reminds me of my Burgman 400, which eventually traded in for my PCX 150. I loved that bike, and if I was still taking long rides on main roads I would still have it. I tested both the Yamaha and the Burgman. They ride very much the same. I got the Burgman because of the price and lack of miles on it. Who sells a 5 year old bike with 2 miles on it!? Long story meant for another time.
I paid $3500 and had it trailered to the dealer. When they finished with it, it was brand new... but 5 years old.
I am pretty sure that you will enjoy owning your Majesty.

Re: 2009 Yamaha Majesty 400
I have had it almost 2 years but have only put about 400 miles on it because I was living in Thailand most of the time. When I got it with 4,000 miles on it, the dealer had gone through it from stem to stern and even put new tires on it because the originals were dried/cracked from sitting for so long.Mel46 wrote:I am pretty sure that you will enjoy owning your Majesty.
I am indeed enjoying it. I bought it for countryside, back road riding and seems to be the perfect combination of size and power. I felt the PCX would be a little under powered for what I want here.

Re: 2009 Yamaha Majesty 400
We were living in Thailand when our grandson was born. In Thailand, one typically greets another person with 'Khun' (sounds like coon as in racoon). It is something like using Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms but used more commonly for just about everyone who is an adult. Additionally, the son's children refer to their father's father as Bpu (Boo). We tried to teach my grandson to say Khun Bpu, but he had a hard time with the 'K' sound, and it came out Aboo (Abu), and that's what stuck.you you wrote:Let's have the grandad story then

None of us are Thai or Asian descent, but because we lived there for almost 6 years, we thought it would be unique to use a Thai grandad's name .... I guess it turned out that way in the end.
