Windshield upgrade?
Hi All
I am looking to upgrade my Windshield and am looking at the following 3 options
Original Honda Tall windshield
GIVI Givi D1123ST (the fixed one, not with the sliding part)
Puig tall windscreen
My preference is for the Puig as it looks the sleekest and comes in a smoked design which i like.
My issue is that i have my handle bars slightly rotated forward so that they are higher and further reach as it is more comfortable for me so i am worried about the bars hitting the windshield at full lock
if any of you have these windshields, can you post a photo of the clearance of the handlebar and windshield at full lock to help me choose the best one for me.
cheers guys

Re: Windshield upgrade?
Hi Atabone...I have the Puig screen on my Forza300...Went out to garage to look at any clearance issue...My handle bars are set as normal...haven't altered them and it seems to me there is loads of clearance...will try to take photo and post if my IT skills are up to it!
It was my wing mirror extension pieces which initially slightly hit the screen at full lock but tinkering with the extension pieces fixed that.
One thing if I may suggest...don't get the "dark" screen...I have that and in certain light conditions you cannot see through it...totally black...only of course affecting slow moving looking down at kerbs etc...so not a biggy..If I were ordering again I would go for the light tint one...great screen however and fairly easily fitted.
Hope this helps and if I "can " I will post a pic.

Thanks for the quick reply!
Yeah i thought the dark screen would not be great, was aiming for the Light tint as you suggested
if you manage with the photo it would be great to understand the spacing available
cheers

Re: Windshield upgrade?
I am struggling with attaching a photo from my laptop...have taken a couple...but cannot see how to attach?!...as I say my IT skills and understanding is limited!
However have measured the gap between the handlebar and the screen on full lock (remember I have kept my handlebar at normal position).
The nearest point of contact is with the brake lever and that's 40cms...the distance between the handlebar grip and the screen is 70cms. Will keep persevering re photo...any tips welcome!

Re: Windshield upgrade?
I have the Honda Tall but would like to try the GIVI Adjustable. I need more air to hit my helmet in the rain to stop fogging. I am 5 foot 6.
I have my bars tilted down a few notches to give me a sport bike like stance for long distance riding. Normal bar position was too high for short little me, it hurt my shoulders.

Dave, I did this video a while back for someone but it does show the GIVI windshield (tall) and its proximity to the handlebars. The bars are factory set and no changes . I cut the screen to suit my height fyi..hope it helps.

Re: Windshield upgrade?
So the windscreen arrived and i have fitted and tested it, and am very pleased, very strange feeling to ride now, as it feels like i am being sucked forwards!
Overall i am happy with it
so here are a couple photos of it installed, and i also took the liberty of taking some photos comparing to the original short screen for anyone one who is thinking about this windscreen

Re: Windshield upgrade?
Haha cheers, I ordered it off Amazon and within 20 hours it was delivered to me, quite impressed with that considering that in Malta we have no Amazon warehouses
well I use it in winter so we do have some rain, and believe it or not in summer it's too hot to ride with the visor closed as it gets too stuffy, but the wind is too hot so your eyes just burn hehehe

Re: Windshield upgrade?
Hi Atabone - that upgrade looks really good, the concave curve retaining the sports appeal. May I ask you to measure, please, the height difference between the original screen and the Puig - measuring from the instrument cowl to give the original height and then the Puig height.
Thanks ..... in anticipation.

Re: Windshield upgrade?
Apologies - have now found some specs, apparently 250mm taller than original?
