At first glance I thought it was a window in the fence. Then I thought it was some sort of distortion in the photo. Then it dawned on me. I dunno, maybe my upbringing was a bit too sheltered and I'm a narrow minded old fart. It's remarkable though.

It's been down both sides. Maybe the wrapped straw bale caused it ?

That thing likely caused the right side downing. Probably more of the same scrapes on the other side.
