Michelin Tyre Sizes for 2010 PCX

Post by BRTID »

Hi, hoping I can get confirmation regards the Michelin City Grip front and rear tyre sizes. I have had a look at the available info through the board and so far what I've found is the rear tyre size 140/70/14 and the front 120/70-14 on the front. But so far I haven't found anyone specifically knowing if they fit onto 2011 PCXs. I understand the Airbox and rear guard might need shimming, and if that's all that I need to do - no problem. But it'd be great if someone could confirm this is possible. TIA

Can anybody shed some light on this one. Really don't want to go and buy them to find out they aren't going to fit. o_O

Be sure to let your insurer know you've fitted the wrong size of tyres.
Get the correct sizes and you'll know they'll fit AND be legal.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Yes. Well insurance for bikes in Vietnam is something you get if you can afford to pay annually, the equivalent value of the bike each year. In other words it ain't worth the time or effort. Plus there's a no contest rule here. If you hit a pedestrian or bicycle rider, you pay the costs. If I am hit (on my bike) by anything larger than me, it's automatically their fault. Makes everyone in a cage very careful about how they drive. lol.

But I still need to know if the tyres will fit without anything more than just spacing for the airbox and lifting the guard.

Anyone know for sure if they fit OK?

47 years of riding bikes and I agree with you, it doesn't seem to cover all I need to know. ;)

I have not done it, but maybe someone here has pushed the limits with those sizes.

The newest model PCX has 100/80-14 for the front and 120/70-14 for the rear. That would probably be the maximum I would take a chance on without worrying about all sorts of possible problems.
