Is the 'glove box' water proof.

Just picked up the Bluetooth earpiece that I would like to keep in the glove box. Is the glove box waterproof? How about underneath the seat, has anyone experienced any type of leaks ?

When I had my PCX I didn't recall any leaks in the glove box or under the seat.

But then again I hardly if ever rode it in the rain. . ..

To be on the safe side I'd put it in a Zip Lock plastic bag whether I stored it in the glove box or under the seat. I think the glove box lid on the new 2019 PCX is different than the earlier models. It's a bigger lid and has to seal along the vertical and horizontal sides of it's mating surfaces. The older models just had that access lid that you pressed from the side so I think it would have been more difficult for water to get in. . .. Just guessing. The pic below is of my recent 2017. . ..

Actually through all my riding years I've always put things that I was concerned about getting wet in a plastic bag. . .like the owner's manual, band aids, etc. . ..

Great info, not so much concerned with riding in the rain. But more so because we get these brief torrential downpours, and wondering if I need to bring the Bluetooth into the house. The moto is outside not covered.
Good information about the plastic bag. I did have one bad experience with putting an electronic device in a plastic bag. The humidity killed it .... I'm assuming.

I’ve seen plenty of rain and never had a leak under the seat. However if it was me I’d pop the earbud in my pocket and take it indoors and put it somewhere warm and dry. It’s hardly a chore.

Oh yeah. . .that's right. . .you live in Cambodia. . .very hot and humid climate.

So if you did seal up a bag the moisture from the air could get trapped in it. When things cool down they condense.

It's usually not such a problem where I live but this Summer our weather was really hot and extremely humid. I agree it can cause a variety of problems.

Maybe just bringing it in like You You say's would be best. . ..

I was actually wondering if the underseat storage is in fact water proof. The edge of the bucket is at the same level as the side plastic panel, relying only on the firmness of contact of the seat rubber weather stripping. On my Elite 110, the seat bucket is covered over its edges with the seat, making it impossible for the water to get in.

Never had any water penetration in glovebox or under seat on a 2010 PCX 125 and 2013 Forza 300
Both lived outside uncovered in all weathers.
