Universal mounting plates, similar?
I am certain this has been talked about before, I did search!
In my quest to be visible ( but riding like I am not), I am trying to add some lights to the Givi box that came with the Pcx.
It seems like the light kit that Givi sells are not really that bright. And I must confess that: yours truly is not exactly good working with tools.
Question: would the Universal plates of Givi and Shad have similar dimensions? the plan is to attach this to the underside

The lights to use that are the brightest are going to cost you. Such as the Admore strip lights that can mount on bags.. They are extremely bright, made for rear end visibilty but I caution you, any rear lighting is going to take some skill and knowledge as an installer, i.e drilling, heat shrinking connections, etc.

I also installed a Custom Dynamics Knight Riderz strobing brake light on the license plate frame. Believe me when I say that the drivers can see me when I stop now.

I also turned the bottom fender reflector into a brake light.

Re: Universal mounting plates, similar?
Thank you! Already ordered the tape from Amazon. I stopped at Harbor F and picked some refrective tape up, replaced the paper under the red plastic (lenses ? ) and seems to help. Will get the Riderz Strobing brake lights as well.Mel46 wrote:These are my tail lights. It is not hard to install them. If you want to add lights to your tail box itself and/or on the rack, use the following tape and press it on a clean surface so that it will stick. It does hold quite well.

Mel - Sorry but I couldn't help myself. Just had to post this video. Your scooter looks stellar like it's from outer space with all those lights. Anyone who couldn't see you would have to be really messed up . . ..These are my tail lights. It is not hard to install them.

You have probably seen this picture before but this is a view of my front lights. I have also now added hazard lights so that the bike can be seen if you break down.

Re: Universal mounting plates, similar?
By the way Pepi, I have the sequential strobe. As I ride along, the light is going back and forth until I press the brake lever. Then it flashes for a set amount of time before coming to steady on. People know when I am stopping, and they also back off from the strobing Knight Riderz light when I am riding in front of them.

Re: Universal mounting plates, similar?
The lights are easy to connect. If you can, look at the tail light wires. Aside from the turn signal wires, which are light blue and orange, there should be 3 of them. The green one is always ground on the PCX. Of the 2 that are left, one is always on (black), and the other only has power when you press the brake lever (green & yellow).
This should help you some.
