Looks great!
I hear it holds two helmets.
But how much coffee and donuts?

Re: Givi V47 Top box
My guess would be FAR more donuts than one actually needs.
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

I had a chance to visit Paris in April of '70. What a blast.
Fish could probably give you some good travel tips.
Bon voyage!

Beware of Wobble on Deceleration Re: Givi V47 Top box
Rollmops - your new top box looks great.
Just a word of caution: even the original Honda top box can cause slight to moderate wobble on deceleration. Mine does.
My advice is not to get caught by surprise: on a nice, flat road ride some 80-90 km/h and then, cautiously let go of handlebars, keeping your hands ready to grab back and let the bike decelerate. You might experience some wobble at certain speed. My experience was shocking as I wasn't expecting it to happen. Don't worry. Usually it takes just one finger to stop the wobble. I think it's worth knowing.
If you decide to try, please report back.
Wobble or not, I keep my top box on as it makes my life so much easier and there's no real added danger.
In any case, have a great riding season. Mine has started a fortnight ago and it's just getting better and better.
I love to ride and it shows!

Re: Givi V47 Top box
Occaisionally I put a lot of weight in my Givi 55 litre top box. The bike handling is wobbly bad but I ride sensibly. (Is that an oxymoron, "Ride sensibly?")
Most of the time my top box is empty and just to put my helmet & riding gear into it while I am in the stores.
I want to do a top speed run with and without it to find out how much I lose.
-4C this morning and ice on the driveway. I went to back to bed. McDonalds is going to go bankrupt unless it warms up soon.

I just come back from my first Service. Its about a 50 miles drive too the Dealer.
Wet road wind gust at 25 mile (the forcast said.)
Second Helmet in the top box and some bits.Guess about 10 pound.
70-80 Mph past Brighton. It does get wobbly in the back from the wind catching the box.No problems with the front.
I am 178 Pound it probably Helps
The service was free. What a surprise i got something for free in the UK.

Re: Givi V47 Top box
I did my top speed run yesterday. It was 130 kmph indicated with and without the top box. I went on the same road 10 minutes apart.
My indicated top speed seems to be dropping. Where does the Forza speedometer get its information?
I seem to remember a top speed of 148 kmph when it had about 3000 km on the Forza. That was with the stock tires and the stock windshield. I now have worn out Michelin CityGrips and the tall Honda windshield.
The 2014 currently has 97,000 km with a half worn out belt. The brakes might be dragging? I have too many tools and other crap under the seat. I weigh about 200 pounds ready to ride.
What is your top speed?
So who has a faster STOCK 2014 gen Honda Forza 300?
By going faster I am pushing more air around and using more gas and annoying the RCMP. I don't need to go fast. Just curious.

Oh yeah, get that bad boy dirty.
A clean bike is a sign of a sick mind.
Ride em cowboy!
My adopted father's mother was from Hurstpierpoint. She put love notes in with WWI ammunition she was making. A Welsh coal miner took it seriously and 6 kids later I was bought by her son.

I'm thinking drive belt wear is causing the loss in top speed.I did my top speed run yesterday. It was 130 kmph indicated with and without the top box. I went on the same road 10 minutes apart.

Here's an interesting article. . ..

Also I doubt it's a brake pad dragging. If it was you may experience heat build up or smell something and at real slow speeds it just doesn't seem right . . . not as free wheeling as it should be. I had a bad front wheel caliper on a Jeep and I first noticed the front end reacting weirdly when I went to apply the brakes. It was about 10 years old at the time. Corrosion was the problem.
There's a place like that near where I live. It's a great place to go when a 50 mile, 1 hour casual ride loop is in order.Did a few miles last week in the Southdown's between Petworth an Chichester. Weather wasn't great but at least dry.
The pic is taken from Gillette's Castle above the Connecticut River . . . built by the famous actor who portrayed "Sherlock Holmes" long ago.
Re: Givi V47 Top box
I have a V47 Topbox on my VFR 800, I bought my Forza 300 scoot a few weeks back with a factory 35L box and mounting plate, it is way too small so I want to use the VFR's box on my scoot. I am assuming I will have to replace the entire Honda mounting as it is Monolock not Monokey but it I tried a larger Monlock box - it didn't fit because Honda's idea of a Monolock fitting is different from Givi - who invented the system. Can you tell me the part number of the Givi fitting kityou used to mount the box please?
Thanks
Jonah

Re: Givi V47 Top box
The V47 is a Monokey box so you need the https://www.twistedthrottle.ca/givi-sr1 ... -300-13-15.
I hate their naming system, too easy to get the racks confused.
I presume you are American and have a first generation 2014-2017 Honda Forza 300.
Look at the instructions at http://files.twistedthrottle.com.s3.ama ... SR1123.pdf

Naaaa Dave I am British but I live offshore, happily neither the UK govt or the EU or the Donald and his train wreck (good for the economy somehow) can touch me.
Thanks very much for the advice it is a bit of a nightmare trying to figure out Racks and Boxes despite the attempts at simplification.
Cheers
