key issue... non LED PCX

I have a subscriber that has a non-LED PCX key that won't turn off in the ignition. Never heard of this problem so I ask him to join us and get some advise and options.

Does the key belong to that particular PCX, for certain? I have two 2013 models and one key will not work in the other, but with so many of them being built, what is the chance the keys would get closer and closer to matching the first one eventually?

Is the key an original or a copy?

Aside from the key, the next thing would be the ignition unit itself.
