Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
Can anyone tell me what the purpose of this hole is for? Hazard light switch?

Re: Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
Thanks! I thought I had to remove a panel for that.
Re: Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
That opening on my scoot is empty as well. There's nothing there?
What's that all about? I am wondering if that indicator popped out last fall when I replaced panels, and I didn't notice it at the time.
Hmmm.... can anyone confirm?

Mine is blank too. Can anyone take a close up pic of the measuring device and I can ask the dealer here about it. I wonder if some countries get it and others dont?

Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
There is no measuring device. It's just a hole for looking through at the fluid level.

Re: Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
I looked in my service manual last night and found the same page as is posted here. Looks to me like there should be a reservoiur behind the opening. From the photo in the other thread http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=683 it looks like the reservoir tank has a protrusion (or something) that actually seats in that opening.
I haven't seen my scoot in a while as it's covered up for the winter, but I'd swear there was nothing in that opening on my bike. I remember looking right at it and wondering why there was nothing there. I guess I'm going to have to take a look now, I'm curious. If there's nothing there I'll take off the cover and see if it got jarred out of place from the spill I took last fall.
I'll let you all know what I find out. It'll probably be few days before I can get out there to look.

ok so you need to shine a torch into the hole to see the fluid level. Looks blank under normal light.

I took this today. Fluid is at half mark between lower/upper. Hope you gets things sorted asap. I'd be a bit miffed myself!

Re: Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
WhiteNoise.... Looking at your latest pic, mine does NOT look like that. The hole goes straight thru, there's nothing behind it except the back of a panel.WhiteNoise wrote:I took this today. Fluid is at half mark between lower/upper. Hope you gets things sorted asap. I'd be a bit miffed myself!
Gonna have to pull the little ignition panel off and see what's up.

Mine looks slightly different. Reserviour is set further back and the panel doesn't have the trim finishing grommet

Sounds like your dealer owes you a grommet then, qed.
Mine has the grommet too.

Re: Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
It looks like the access hole and the reservoir are smaller tbh
Anyhoo the bike will be faster without the grommet, less weight..

Your making light of things but a good poo before setting off always helps the power to weight ratio....
Re: Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
Well, I went out and took a closer look at my bike. I stuck my finger in the opening and I'll be damned, the reservoir is there. It's just back a bit and hard to see.

Re: Empty hole next to ignition keyhole
Good to hear!
Can you see the fluid level? Due to the "set back" it must be hard to read
