Yes, t'is true. Yale, originally founded as the "Collegiate School", got it's start right here in Old Saybrook, CT.

At a later time it was moved to New Haven, CT where it still provides top level education to countless students from around the world.

Not too much further down the street is the original site of the "Saybrook Fort" also. I'll show some photos of that on another scooter adventure.

Visited Yale's art gallery a few times when I lived in Mass. in the 70's. (along with the Fogg, and the great little one at Smith)
I miss a lot of stuff about New England.
Some day I'll stop going to Florida for vacation.
