Did a tool kit come with the 2015 PCX and if so is it useful?

My "tool kit" on my 2013 model is more extensive than later models and it only included a rubber helmet strap (for hooking the helmet to the seat hook if it won't fit inside), a couple of washers, and a couple of other minor things. I would hesitate to call it tool kit. If there isn't anything under the seat, don't be upset.

Did you at least get a owners manual? If not, I am sure we have a pdf version floating around here on the forum.

Otherwise, don't worry. I haven't used either of my "tool kits".

There are two "tools" that came with a 2013 PCX that are useful. The helmet strap is excellent, and an absolute necessity if your helmet does not fit under the seat. It is about $8 and if there isn't one under the seat, the dealer should not quibble about giving you one. The second useful tool is far more arcane. There is a pretty tiny "H" shaped bit of plastic. it is a fuse puller, and getting a fuse out to check or change is damn near impossible without it.

Clearly not a big money expense, but if you need it, it is a bargain at ten times the price. Needle nose pliers will work, but not as easily.

The only other thing that came with mine was a chintzy double sided screwdriver. The fact is you are not going to get much done on the machine without taking off tupperware, and that requires time and concentration. If you are going to invest in some tools, a metric socket set (3/8" is fine - 1/4" would probably do the job if a quality set) and a set of metric hex wrenches (preferably Bondhaus or a copy that has one ball end). Top the set off with a JIS cross point screwdriver (American style phillips tip will strip a japanese screw faster than you can say "damn")

A set of plastic trim tools is also handy. Check an auto parts place or a place like Harbor Freight. No need to spend big money here.

Or just let the shop do it. Unless you ride a huge amount, the services don't come up that often. If the dealer changed your fluids and checked your valves, you are good for quite a while.

Yes, I forgot about that screwdriver. Useless. The helmet strap? I have used it exactly once. I found that the strap on the helmet fits that hook quite well without the need for the rubber helmet strap they included, but if you absolutely have to have one, you can just as easily make one from an old inner tube, if you can find one these days....or a velcro strap.

As for other tools that I carry under the seat, a couple of adjustable wrenches and a screwdriver set that has multiple heads.

You will definitely need the tools George mentioned if you plan on doing any of the maintenance yourself. The JIS screwdriver makes getting those screws loose a bit easier. I bought mine on Amazon. It took a little while to arrive from Japan, but I use it enough that I now have a 2nd one with a ball head for easier turning when the screw is deep down inside the plastics.

Ok, I just went to the basement and looked in my wife's bike for her "tool kit". We bought the bike in the summer of 2012. It came with more tools than mine, which is also a 2013 model, but I purchased it in mid 2014. Here is a picture of what is in her kit. We have never used it. In fact, the plastic case it came in was falling apart from being cheap, so I had to use duct tape to seal one side again before taking this picture. Remember, even my 2013 model did NOT come with as many tools, so I imagine yours has even fewer, if any tools.

my 2018 UK spec PCX has a double ended screw driver and a helmet strap...and thats what honda describe as a tool kit

I just bought a 2020. The tool kit has a loop of wire cable wrapped in a bit of foam.
I guess they think the only service I'll be doing is locking the helmet.
