We talked scoots and Morgans, and rear light bars, for awhile.
1967 with freshly rebuilt engine.

Wood is good!

I remember in college seeing one of those on campus as somebody's daily driver. It was nice. It was the car with the "wood frame". Same color.

Check out "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee". Seinfeld did an episode in one just like it. Worth a watch for sure. . ..

Sooo, how do you get to that spare tire? I dont see where the wooden rack on top of the spare is connected to the car. Also, what is that cover for that is on top of the spare? I must say that I have never seen a car that uses wood on the exposed surfaces like that rack is. It is a very interesting car. The closest I have seen to that car was my brother's MGA. It was interesting, but not like that Morgan.

Morris Traveller had an exposed external wooden frame, as did the Mini Traveller.

Yup.

Here's my brother's. Picked us up in it and we went for dinner when we visited Bristol last May.

He's since trailered it to his second home in France, where he is doing guided tours of the wine country in it from his home/B&B!

Reminds me a bit of an early Hillman Minx.

Except I don't recall the Hilman having any wood trim.

Rode in one for hours when I was a kid on a trip to Bermuda with my parents. We took one of those "taxi tours". Tons of Mopeds and Velo Solex riders back then throughout the Hamilton area.

We had three Hillman Minxes (all different years/shapes) while I was growing up. They didn't have any wood on them. Never saw a Hillman woodie.

I wonder if they exported any of those little cars to a country that has left hand drive. I would love to have one as our second car. It would be fun to drive! (I'm not so sure about that bike though.)

Yes..... it actually came out as a minx but became the Hunter - we had the early Minx version:

A replacement Minx (sometimes identified, retrospectively, as the New Minx) took over from the Series VI in 1967. It was a reduced specification version of the Hillman Hunter. Saloon and estate versions were produced, initially equipped with a 54 bhp 1496 cc 4 cylinder engine. A 61 bhp 1725cc engine became available in 1968. The final Minx was replaced by a Hillman Hunter De Luxe model in 1970.
