Non EU ( EURO ) MODELS

Post by Yorkie150 »

Im new to pcx ownership and have noticed a slight difference in the EU and Non EU models in particular to lighting / indicators / reflectors

Do the US Dept of transport require separate indicators rather than the integrated ones on the EU models and why do they have red reflectors on the side at the rear and also below the license plate ?

Seems seems to have more reflectors but why the indicator change ?

I am considering extra //amber/orange'' side reflectors on the rear sides to make it stand out a bit on my pcx

My 2017 U.S. model had side reflectors off the front forks and near the taillight. The turn signals were incorporated into the body panels. Evidently the design met the requirements by the DOT and the "Pumpkin" type turn signals mounted on stalks weren't requested.

Anything that makes your presence on the road more visible is a good idea IMHO. That said I think a "Hi-Viz" jacket or vest with nighttime reflective features and a white or yellow helmet is a good idea also. You can also add reflective stickers on a darker colored helmet.

My top box on my Zuma doesn't have any lights but I did add reflective stickers. You can also get soft luggage that has reflective materials.
