Re: Living on the edge . . ..
Why would anyone want to ride on that road?! It looks to me like there have been quite a few washouts and slides in on the road. I would hate to come around a blind corner only to find out that the road ahead is impassable. Only the brave and foolish ride that road at speeds higher than 5 mph.

Ok, so if idiots don't ride it, then those must just be the crazies...different group. Sorry.
"What are you going to do today?"
"Why, I was thinking about riding my bike at high speed along that dangerous mountain road that always washes out."
"Good idea. Can I come along? I will follow close behind and film us going over the edge. We can then post it on Youtube!"
"Yes! That sounds great! I bet no one else has done that!"

Re: Living on the edge . . ..
A round of applause to the guy who had the presence of mind (and guts) to pull the bike away from the burning inferno before the fuel system ignited.I came across this on the interwebs today: they are certainly also living on the edge disinfecting bikes like this
When things happen quick like that panic sets in unless you've had some kind of training or education on what to do for different fire sources (electric, petroleum, gas, wood, paper, etc . . ..).
Before someone arrived with the fire extinguisher the only options I saw were to take off a shirt and try to dampen the fire (starve it for oxygen) or reach into the adjoining greenery and grab handfuls of dirt to throw on it.
Perhaps "Monday Morning Quarterback Experts" would say the scene should have been evacuated by all while someone contacted "Emergency Services" requesting help and for all to remain clear from the area until "First Responders" arrived. But if that happened the situation could have ballooned into something far worse. In war plans go "out the window" after the first shot is fired. Then it's guts and determination and numbers.
What we saw here was "guts and determination" and the "numbers" were few.
Again, give that guy a "Good Citizenship" award!
Now it's up to the experts to come up with a new "flame free" formula for the bug killer spray (antibacterial substance).
