Chinese drive belts??
Whats the consensus on these belts? Any good or are they junk.Looking at price much cheaper, but usually quality suffers in Chinese made parts.Any experience out there using Chinese drive belts?Curious.

Re: Chinese drive belts??
When it comes to belt I think it's best to stay OEM. Belts heats up a lot esp in longer trips and they need to be of the best quality.
I saw a damaged one time at a shop, belt crumpled inside the variator cover, not sure how it happened. Also, not sure what happens if your belt give way while running at higher speed.

Re: Chinese drive belts??
I put a cheap drive belt on for my previous belt. I paid $88.21 Canadian dollars for it with shipping.
I got it somewhere on eBay.ca I don't know where it was made, probably China.
It was total crap when I pulled it off at the factory specified period of 25,600 km but actually 27,076 km.
Half the rubber teeth were missing, it was really noisy but surprisingly it was working pretty well.
It was the belt that I used to go from Hope, BC to Dawson City, Yukon and back last summer.
If it had broken in the Yukon I would have been bear food. There were a lot of bears.
I do not recommend Chinese belts for long distance travel.
A $200 belt is very cheap compared to hotel rooms waiting for a replacement belt.
Unfortunately I ordered another cheap Chinese belt before I had seen the crap one.
I have some problems I am not telling anyone about. I doubt if I will ever need another belt.
Buy the $200 belt.

Re: Chinese drive belts??
Wait, $200 for OEM belt?
Try to Find sellers in EBAY that are based in Thailand, OEM are cheaper here. I doubt it will reach $200 including shipping fees, etc.
for ex. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Honda- ... Sw7khaAzUr

ALX123 the kit you gave a link for is for a PCX?
I am talking 2014 Forza 300. I don't know what the OP has.
I am talking Canada also.
Thailand is probably better than China for the Forza 300.

Re: Chinese drive belts??
I suspect that my Chinese belt was a few millimetres longer than it should have been and it was rubbing on the clutch surround on the swingarm.

Dave
Your'e right I was thinking I'm on the PCX thread, my bad.
Here's one for the Forza, from Thailand, shipping internationally.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/FORZA-NSS300-F ... SwYvFZMOSw
I'm not sure if import taxes will make the price higher so there's that..
That's another problem with buying non-OEM parts, the spefications and measurements are kinda hit or miss

Re: Chinese drive belts??
$112 Canadian with shipping, I would buy one if I needed another one. I don't think Canada charges any taxes on this item. I could be wrong, things change all the time.
Is there a problem with fake parts in Thailand? We seem to have lots of fakes in Canada.

Fakes are from China mostly. There are many aftermarket ones from Thaiand though but they have their own brand names and don't pretend to be OEM.davenowherejones wrote:$112 Canadian with shipping, I would buy one if I needed another one. Re: Chinese drive belts??
This is not always true, Thais sometime swear that the item is manufactured by Honda, kind of try to say they don't understand the difference if something built "for" Honda or "by" Honda.alx123 wrote: Fakes are from China mostly. So need to double check and confirm, they even make red Honda labels with part numbers. But they are the rogue ones, they are honest ones too, kind of like everywhere else...

Re: Chinese drive belts??
I've seen them too, mostly I think are made in China and they're easy to spot. But who knows, they might be locally made too.

I can think of a whole lot of riding situations where I would be glad I spent the money for that critical Honda part.
