What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
I love my PCX, but my butt and spine aren't too happy when I hit a pothole or bump in the road. I realize that his is a lightweight scooter, but I wish Honda had designed a better suspension system. What after market improvements have others done to improve this aspect of the scoots ride? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Hi
Have a look at this thread, it starts discussing the front suspension and recently we have talked about the rear...

its makes for an expensive upgrade in the UK.....The UK Customs will add VAT and Import tax on top pf the price ....I think they are being overly active at the moment as I got stung with VAT on a cheap part from ALI EXPRESS

Re: What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
I ordered some Takegawa adjustable shocks and lowering springs. Its pretty stiff so would not advise those. lol I mainly got them bc it lowers the bike

Re: What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
Tried the cheaper YSS [XL] specifically designated for PCX. Mine do not have the external reservoir, like the ones Judge 64 has.
Was disappointed. Wished I'd saved my money. Pretty harsh ride but...love it anyway. Pick my roads carefully. Also have a seat
pad that helps. Have heard others claim the [air wolf and other pads] gave them better results?? Plus its useful on your other bikes.

Re: What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
I think a combination of adjustable shocks and a softer seat will make all the difference you need. I changed my shocks plus I added a gel seat cushion. My ride is great now.

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights

What shocks did you use as replacements?

Re: What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
Don't order shocks without knowing the springs rate- depending on your weight, if you ride solo or not. Three of us here grew tired of the stiffness of YSS (XL springs) and bought different springs for the rear shock. It's discussed in my previous link: https://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4877 in the last pages. Make sure to read it all
EDIT: I see you have a 2019 one, which already is a vast improvement on the led Esp's...

Do recall how well it rode with a passenger. Guess I'll just have to eat more : )
Good to know there are optional springs available. Thanks

Re: What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
I believe the front suspension on my bike is now the main problem as our roads are terrbile in London - even when there is not a pot-hole the surface is bumpy. I keep hearing what sounds like hitting an end stop at moderate 20mph speed going over mild bumps or dips and it seems it's the front, not rear suffering.
Could it be they just need the oil changed or replacement? The bike always passes the MOT that tests for bounce and function.

How many miles on your PCX? When I upgraded the front suspension on my PCX, one of the struts had metal particles mixed in the oil. My scooter was at 40K miles. The suspension on the scooter has always been soft, so it might just be that the roads you travel are quite rough.iceman wrote:I believe the front suspension on my bike is now the main problem as our roads are terrible in London - even when there is not a pot-hole the surface is bumpy. Fork oil will be buggered. Drain it and put some heavier oil in.

Re: What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
I noticed the hard suspension too and I let out some air in the stock iRC that came with the 2018/19 pcx 150.
I run mine 26 front and 30 rear and it feels much softer than before. The iRCs seems to have a very stiff sidewall so letting out some air has improved the comfort significantly. I weight 96kg and wife is 66kg and no issues with tires at high speeds and long rides.

YSS shock on the rear and is planning to upgrade my front forks' spring soon.
Everything looks better from the inside of a motorcycle helmet...

Re: What have you done to improve the PCX suspension?
I installed YYS shocks.
Airhawk seat cushion
Someone’s prized sheep on the cushion
This combination has allowed me to ride 4-500km in a day with total comfort.

I like the crate box on that. How did you mount it?
