Do get the hernia fixed at your next opportunity. I can understand your concerns about the COVID 19 risk being in a hospital. But don't delay any longer than you feel is prudent.Need to get out riding again when seeing these pictures!
Although just been diagnosed with, and i'm using a translator for this - inguinal hernia - which is causing a lot pain for the past 2 months but didn't want to consult my Dr. because of this pandemic raging (Mrs. or Mr Covid is not welcome in my house).
Better stay home and 'safe' even with a lot of pain because of my intestines apparently coming out where they should not be... Maybe my low-side adventure a while ago has something to do with this...
Next time I'll ride I'll take some pictures of the harbour which is basically my backyard (I see these relatively 'huge' container vessels pass by everyday from my bedroom :p)
Impression of one of these ships passing by everyday:
You have a National Healthcare System right? So the surgery would be paid for?
I was born with one of those and they took care of it before I left the hospital. Never had a problem with it . . ..
Another type of hernia that is more common is an umbilical hernia. Depending upon the situation you can live with it but your belly button sticks out like a mushroom cap (just the cap . . . no stem

Sorry, couldn't help myself . . ..
It's painful if you cough or lift something right? Just take it easy for now and see what your Doctor says' on your next visit.
Looking forward to the pics of the harbor in your area when you are "up to it".
