Hi everyone.
I have a white 2012 PCX 125cc. (bought used in 2018). It has been running great with no issues. It has ciirca 22k Kms. The former owner siad he had replaced the battery not long before I bought it.
Today, and out of the blue, it doesn't start. It doesn't even light the panel. Nothing. (and I don't use the start and stop because of the battery drainning.)
The strangest part is that it worked fine and started fine up to one hour before!
Can a battery go dead like this? No lights at all? In an hour?
Any thoughts on this? Has anyone experienced this before?

Well...decided to check the battery and got aroung 6,5v....found the issue then.
Should I charge it or buy a new one?

Lead acid batteries don't only suffer chemical degradation, they also sustain physical damage from all the road vibrations. AGM batteries tend to last a bit longer, up too ten Years for those used in cars.

Many of us lucked out with original batteries lasting many years, in many cases the life of the bike. Mine is now over 6 years old from purchase, so adding in manufacture date a lot longer than that ('14 reg LED style).
Out in all weathers all year round kept on the front yard, never trickle charged or any charge off the bike, and often 5 days no use or 3 weeks for a long summer break and shift days off - starts 1st time.
Others have bad batteries from the get-go.

I have a 2013 model that I have replaced the battery on a couple of times during its lifetime. The bike only has 6,000 miles on it but time and heat will got to the battery. On the last battery change I went back to the YUASA battery. They seem to last longer and are much more dependable than the off-brands.
Another option is the new lithium batteries, though they are still quite expensive... though I hear that they last an extremely long time.

I’m not worried about a battery exploding on me, I’ve been running the lithium battery for the last two years in my Xmax, and use the same battery in my PCX before I sold it. The starter spins up faster, the lights seem to be a little bit brighter, and the weight of the battery is about 30% of the normal battery. Expensive but that’s not a problem for me.
This battery fits the PCX perfectly, in fact you’ll have to use some foam that comes with it because it’s much smaller than the stock battery.

I have used Shorai Batteries before, they are legit. I don't have one of those on my scooter, but when the time comes I'll get one of those. The price isn't that bad. My scooter is still on it's original battery, can't complain.
