I have to change the tire valve stems

I got down on the ground this morning to check the air pressure in my PCX's tires and to add some air. What a pain it is to try to get a tire pressure gauge on to the stem in that small wheel. And then trying to figure out a way to get the air hose from my air compressor onto the stem as well. I guess I should be glad that the scooter has wheels the size it is, and not the even smaller wheels that the Vespa uses, but I can't imagine why Honda did not put right angle stems on these wheels. The next time I get the oil changed or any other service on the scoot I will ask my mechanic to change the tire valve stems on both the front and back wheels, installing the right angle ones so that checking air pressure is a little easier. Its almost as much hassle getting this done as it is to check the rear wheel on my Honda Goldwing where I have to lay flat on the ground just to find and get to the stem.

Thanks RuffStuff didn't know such an animal existed. Just last week went through the same frustrations vito explained.
Going to check out my local bike shop and see if they have something similar on the shelf.

You can get sturdier ones from motorcycle accessories places, ie j&s or m&p etc in the UK, I've got 1 lives in my jacket [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Thanks. I just ordered a set from Amazon and hope that helps. I hadn't ever thought of this and thought I would have to get new stems on the tire. Much simpler this way as long as they don't cause air to leak.

The adapters from Amazon arrived, and the end of one was not threaded! I had to return them to Amazon, but the replacements arrived a day later. They seem to be just what I needed and are now on the scooter. Should make checking air pressure and adding air much, much simpler.

About keeping 90 degree valve extenders on "all the time."
Jge64 does Not keep them connected to his valve stems. Only uses them when necessary.

Why? I believe I read somewhere (along time ago) that leaving them on will change the balance of the wheels causing um, well....unbalanced wheels. I have always wondered if that small weight addition would be noticeable or dangerous while riding. Wobbly? That's not good

There is also the theoretical possibility that the extra weight will pull out the valve stem.

Never heard about it actually happening but there’s always someone who tells you the story...

Rode the scooter once since putting them on. Went for about 50 miles total and noticed no difference in the ride at all. For now, I plan on leaving them on permanently.

Bad idea, just keep 1 in your pocket and 1 at home. Takes seconds and eliminates chance of death

Personally I would take the adapter off after using-just something else to leak.
Guess everyone knows to put a little spit on the end of your finger and then over the schrader valve to check for bubbles and leaks.
Quite often when checking pressures or adding air the valve can stick, just push it in a couple times or tighten a teeny bit.

I decided to accept the advice of those here, and I removed the adapters. I will just put them on when checking tire pressure or adding air. I'm just glad I have the adapters to make this task easier. Keeping one in the small storage area on the dash, along with a tire gauge, seems easy enough to do to have it available when needed.

Interestingly, I purchased a new Forza 125 a few weeks ago and it has a built in cranked valve on the rear wheel (non removable).
