Today my tuning kit came in and I had some time to run a few tests. Here are the results. If I could find an aftermarket brand of variator with 123mm + of diameter, and weight of ~500 grams, we could possibly get more top end speed.
Stock Variator Weight: 707.9 grams
Stock Variator diameter: 123 mm
Stock Line test: 2.5mm outside edge not used
20g weights = Feels good on torque. Very little bog. BAD top end speed.
30mph - 4800rpm
55mph = 7900rpm
MAX 65mph = 9500rpm
Ban Jing Variator Weight: 532.8 grams
https://www.steadygarage.com/store/two- ... cx-150-125
Ban Jing Variator diameter: 116mm
Ban Jing line test: Full usage all all weights
7.5g weights = Very revy kind of feel. Almost instantly jumps to 7000+ rpm on acceleration
30mph - 6300rpm
55mph = 7800rpm
MAX 67mph = 9500rpm
12g weights = Almost a perfect mix of revs and torque. Best top end performance. Overall Best feel.
30mph - 5000rpm
55mph = 7400rpm
MAX 68mph = 9500rpm
14.5g weights = Torque feels good, shifts are nice. Top end didn't feel as good as 12g.
30mph - 5000rpm
55mph = 7500rpm
MAX 67mph = 9500rpm
17.5g weights = Very torquey feel to it. Tends to bog down due to not enough overall HP for the engine. If engine had maybe 3-5 more HP it might be a good option.
30mph - 4300rpm
55mph = 7200rpm
MAX 67mph = 9500rpm

Re: Variator Tunning results Part 2
Great work. The RPM at max speed of 65 is interesting. Looks like you need taller gearing.

Re: Variator Tunning results Part 2
ADV's dont gain much Top Speed like old PCX's with a Variator change. You need to change gears to get above 70.
