Newbie service questions maxed out at 80 :(

Post by AsokPCX »

Hello All,

Moved to Bangkok in August, after 3 years in Yangon and 15 years drivings cars. I've been renting since August and just bought a 2017 PCX and have quite a few questions all technical of sorts.

Biggest concern:
Had a long open road to myself tonight and it maxed out at 85kph then started slowing down to 80kph before it felt like i'd hit the NOS button and the bike shot forward? What the hel is going on there?

Second concern:
It has 26,000km mileage. I want to give it a full service and so far here's what I have on my service list:
Belt, Rollers (not sure what's best here), Variator guides, Spark plug, Engine oil, Brake fluid change, Brake pads, Coolant

Handling:
It handles like a boat, going straight is fine but it feels like as soon as you lean, it tips. Could this be a steering bearing issue?

If its never been serviced then definitely needs a refresh.

I would recommend upgrading the Variator and weights, New Belt, New oil, gear oil and maybe a new air filter.

Inspect the Variator. Im going to assume you have some crazy grooves on the Driveface + Variator.

My '17 did 70+ with just a variator.

I’m new to all the terminology but I think this is the variator

So one of these and a new belt should sort my lack of speed? Should I get 13g rollers?
