How to remove cleaning spray stains from paint work...!?

Well, I noticed a few days after replacing my brake pads that the mechanic had sprayed the brake levers with some cleaning agent (or for lubrication, not sure), and when parked this have dropped droplets from left handlebar on paint work near left foot panel....!? now pink stains on white paint, terrible..., what an idiot....!!!

I saw him wipping the black plastic a bit under the handlebars, but never thought this thing had pink color and do this to my paint...

I tried everything, soup and water, washing up liquid, wipe with sponge, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide (don't ask, had it in cupboard) and gasoline, still not removed really, looks embedded in paint...!

Last resort is acetone but they say that could also damage the paint. I am also worried taking it back to that idiot, Thais to save face, do anything to remove it and could damage the paint even more...!

Any ideas...!? Is acetone really bad...?

A quick wipe with acetone won’t hurt anything, Unless the surface is a Matte paint. I’ve done it numerous times to remove stuff that’s been hard to get off with other products. You may also want to think about claying the vehicle, do a Google search on how to do that.

But the bad news is , I think brake fluid permanently stains or corrodes paint if left to dwell on the surface.

Don't use acetone.

Its likely that whatever he used has discoloured the top clear coat. Try using a gentle cutting compound next. Here it would be T-Cut or similar.

Depends on your paint finish, do not under any circumstances use a cutting compound on matte paint, as it does not have a top clear coat at all. Gloss paint yes, but not matte.

If its matte, then very likely it is beyond a simple product to clean, very likely a respray/new panel. You could try a matte detailer, also Auto glym Fast glass is a great spot cleaner for matte paint too. I use this as well as the Chemical Guys METICULOUS MATTE auto wash and the METICULOUS MATTE detailer.

Like I said above, good possibility the damage is done. Fortunately, completely painted panels from the pacific rim are pretty cheap.

You never know, worth a try. Just don't leave it too long or you may end up with a yellow stain.

have you tried isopropyl alcohol ? this is a de-greasing fluid...and general cleaner

A Honda motorcycle dealer tried to remove the y shaped trim just below my windshield on my 2014 Honda Forza 300. The lower screw tab broke.

They gave me a bs story about my bike not being ready.

They were trying to glue the tab back on. It was put back on at the wrong angle so they just left out the screw.

I noticed it a while later and the mistake they had made.

I just threaded a plastic cable tie through to hold it in place for the last 100,000 km.

Body panels are cheap in Thailand. Get a different mechanic to put a new panel on.

You may try to clean the stains with WD40.
if it doesn't do the job, at least it won't damage the paint.

Forgot to say , tried WD-40, sometimes after washing I rub a bit of WD-40 on black plastic parts, so I tried it on the stain...., nothing...

As I mentioned before this is not brake fluid, as far as I know, it's pink color and was used to lubricate levers out of a spray can, but it seems is just as bad, I think maybe he picked up the wrong spray....!

I'm going to him today (after 8 days), see what he says and what he can do...

I seem to recall that white colour (pearl white?) comes in two parts for touch up - the paint and lacquer.
I gave up trying to keep the panels spotless - with our grimy roads and stuff thrown up, the panels get chipped and small abrasions appear over time.

Panels in the UK are horrendously expensive (and now ordering from the EU is almost not worth it with huge postage and tax charges). Shipping from Thailand is a bit cheaper but with postage to cater for, and who knows what couriers will now add on to the shipping cost.

Seems it's worth respraying the whole bike with a suitable colour if it gets to the point it bothers people.

I was also struggling with scratches before, what happens is that dust and dirt and oil and dirty water and stuff get in the scratches and make it dark grey or black color, horrible on white paint - that's where maybe black or dark color is better, but I prefer visibility and it's cooler under hot sun here....

I also bought some scratch remover cream etc. but pretty useless - even tried that on my current stain, no result...

Then recently took one of those washing up sponges that has not-so-abrasive green layer on one side - I think these are specially designed not to damage Teflon on pans, then gently wipe the scratch area with some washing up liquid on that green side of sponge, and wollah, like magic all scratches disappear, I couldn't believe I didn't try it before...
But be careful, need to use the correct type and be very gentle...
