Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
If I could do 70mph actual, I would be able to commute to work on freeways. It might be good to have 75mph to not have the bike bouncing off the limiter though.
Depending on cost, I might actually be modding my PCX with a bigger bore and better gearing eventually (DON'T TELL GN2!
). It's more economical to have one scooter for everything, and I like the way the PCX handles way better than the Silverwing, so selling the Silverwing, collecting $$$$ and spending $$$ (while banking $$$$) seems like a good idea to me.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
80 miles per hour would be nice. It's almost equal to 130 km/h that the SH300 goes. Even that is sometimes not enough on the open road. The faster the merrier.
I have learned from my mistakes, and I am sure I can repeat them exactly.
Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
I will be happy with 75 mph, So I can keep up with my mates WR125X, But I do leave him standing at the lights

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
I want accelation more than top speed
The current 60-ish mph is fine for me since 50 is the fastest on the route i take, at 70 i think it would be scary with these bikes!

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
I'd like 70 with my 125 but 65 would be top speed for me on this feather. I want to Enjoy a bike/ride not fight the bike to stay upright. Why 70 then? Because it's Nice knowing you have the extra for when you "do" need it (& not be constant on the limiter....as Dave mentioned) and Truly, I'm comfortable doing 45 and enjoying each/every moment. Speed is not Why I bought this sweet thang. Kinda like walking instead of running

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
Probably 70-75... I would mostly like to have more acceleration from 45/50 to top speed. Like a 4th to 3rd downshift in most modern cars, for passing people doing 50mph in a 55.
On long uphill grades it would be nice to do 55 instead of my current 45ish.
I don't know how much fuel economy would be hurt with my 150, but I would gladly give up 10mpg's for 10mph

80mph. Not that I can speed but be nice to have a bit in reserve for hills or strong headwinds! Will probably upgrade to a bigger new bike later this year.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
We have had our pcx150 up to 70 + MPH on the freeway. The problem was not that it could or could not go that speed...it could do 70 all day... the problem is the big trucks. Need I say more??
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150
Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
At first, cruising the freeway seemed stupid for such a lightweight bike, but it got so much easier with the windshield that now I always take the freeway if I can. I’ve had my 150 up to 68 mph, but never hit the limiter.WhiteNoise wrote:65 would be top speed for me on this feather.
Cruising speed for me is 60. Above that is too unstable.
Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
Lol..mine can do 82mph easily on the speedo and ive never felt unsafe or unstable..i do get bit of buffeting (bigger screen)but nothing scary though..Trucks are always behind me or im passing them.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
Mine goes only just under 100 km/h indicated easily. Top speed has never gone beyond 110 km/h. Normal cruising speed is 90 km/h, which the PCX can maintain quite effortlessly. While I ride alone, I feel safe and comfortable all the time. When two-up, potholes and irregularities of the surface tend to make the bike feel somewhat jumpy. Not quite like pogo-stick, though. I've had bikes with far inferior suspension, but the PCX could be improved markedly with a proper set of Öhlins shocks.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
I'd like an actual 70 mph, so more like 80 indicated.
I think the PCX is very stable and don't see a problem with 70 at all. I've ridden mine every day since I've bought it, we've had frost, light snow and strong winds. Not been a problem.

More than two wheels is too many.

FWIW, a PCX in the US has a speedo calibrated accurately. Those sold elsewhere will be about 10% optimistic.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
I feel the same way. Ive went 60 beside freight trucks going 75+ without issue, and i have felt strong winds to counter. I would like to exceed 100mph for the 'yeah i did that statement' just as i would like my bigger bike to see 200+mph.Anfield800 wrote:I'd like an actual 70 mph, so more like 80 indicated.

Sure, im a thrill seeker. But it works both ways as i'd like my honda civic to reach 75mpg.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
I'm happy with what speed it does.
Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
Even in my cage, I avoid the interstate. Nothing to see there.
Unless I'm traveling more than 4 hours, in which case I probably won't be scooting anyway.
So 60 cruising speed should be more than enough.
The voice in my head that tells me "faster is more fun" is the reason I have a scoot and not a sport bike.

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?
I wouldnt say exactly that 60 is cruising on the stock Pcx,yes it will do 60 max but will be bouncing of the limiter at that speed. Its like saying my car will do 120 and it cruises but its sitting on the red line screaming its head off! Stock Pcx cruising speed will be around 40-50mph with little bit more left in reserve,so if one wants to cruise at 60 all day long on the Pcx than one has to drop the rpm down at that speed .The way to do it is get an aftermarket variator that will raise your top speed and lower your cruising rpm or get a gear up kit...:/
